some people will only come into your life to teach you what love is not. and when that happens, I hope you know when to walk away.

"Jesus Is As Real As Life & Death" by #AcapellaBob, #November10th2024, #WhatIsLove, #WhatLoveIsNot
Wellll …… there was this time ……
I can’t say that I did this with evil intentions -
I was told by someone that if you wanna show someone that you love them , you should at least try to show some kinda’ intention to the ones that they love.
So.
I did.
Did I want to ?
No.
Did I fake it ?
Well.
I clearly must have. I didn’t wanna do it.
But I loved my person more than my dislike of the person that they loved.
So.
Ya. It could be considered faking it.
Was I faking the love that I have for my person and using that love kind of like as an extension ladder to the person I was trying to show love for ?
I didn’t think so.
But I was using the mantra fake it til you make it -
Good ol NA - just pretend you’re there and eventually you get there.
The power of the brain.
Do the muscles hold the bones or to the bones hold the muscles ?
Does the brain rule the thoughts or do the thoughts rule the brain ?
Who is the master.
Who decides.
Is it all fake and we just convince ourselves until we have peace?
Ohhhhh.
The search continues.
The tunnels go on and on , Alice.

What Love Is Not
The word 'love' has been misconstrued to the point where it is increasingly difficult to discern genuine intentions. Many people have distorted notions of love, and they often impose their views on others. However, here are four things that love is not: 1. Love is not tyranny. Love does not delight in evil. It doesn't intentionally inflict pain or find pleasure in causing suffering to its object of affection. Love is not a cruel taskmaster or a dictator. Instead, it embodies kindness and patience. It brings out the best in you, rather than diminishing your true self. Love doesn't treat you as subordinate or inferior. It doesn't bully you into conformity or punish you for holding different perspectives. 2. Love is not manipulation. Love is not selfish; it does not insist on its own way but always upholds what is right. It is straightforward and honest, not confusing or indecisive. With love, you don't need to question where you stand; it consistently reassures you. Love is not coercion; it doesn't force you to compromise your morals or core values to prove your worthiness. It never belittles, objectifies, or threatens you to gain control. Love is trustworthy, devoid of deception or mind games. 3. Love is not settling. Love doesn't require you to compromise your core values or self-respect to be with someone. It goes beyond mere appearances; it prioritises you and meets your essential relationship needs. Love empowers you to know your worth and stand firm in your principles. You don't have to settle for less, as love treats you with utmost care and respect. It allows you to flourish and become the best version of yourself, never dimming your light due to another's insecurities. 4. Love is not a weakness. Loving requires immense strength. It adds flavour to life and makes it worth living. A heart that experiences love is resilient. To both love and be loved is one of life's greatest joys. It takes courage to be vulnerable, opening yourself to another's gaze and acceptance. Love demands endurance, accepting the other person wholly and committing to them through thick and thin. In conclusion, faith, hope, and love are powerful virtues, and love, in particular, holds a supreme place. By understanding what love is not, we can recognize authentic love and foster meaningful connections in our lives. Read the full article

LOVE
What love is:
-when he sees my cuts, even if we’re in the middle of something *ahem* private, stopping to ask if I’ve been feeling okay
-at Magic night, even though I’m in the middle of a 60-card game, a spot opens up at the commander table, he looks at me and I tell him to go
-him asking me how band practice was bc he loves to hear me excited
-me kissing him bc he literally can’t resist pointing out turtles in the pond and I’ve never seen him so excited
-sending him songs and random things I think he’ll like
-on our first date, when he asked if it was okay to kiss me
What love is NOT:
-Me throwing out everything yellow in my closet bc he doesn’t like me in yellow
-Me telling him he can’t have a porn sideblog
-Either of us putting the other one before school or work
-Expecting the other one to put up with a bunch of aggressive bs
-Insisting he spend more time with me than with his family

Loving a Narcissist
I lay awake and think. I see your face. I see you laugh. I see the way you are sipping wine from that mug. What did I miss? How did I miss it? How did I miss the darkness within you? Or, did I simply not want to see it? You are married with two children at home. Yet, here you are with me. I believed I was special. I believed I mattered. I justified all of the bad because I believed we were soulmates. You told me I was “the one”. You told me you “loved me more than anything” and that “we should be together”. You told me you have “never felt this way before.” However, when you are 700 kilometers away love-bombing is easy to do.
My 14-year-old self never saw it. Yet, we never really did get along, did we? Was it because I was am empath and you a psychopath? Years later I would see you from a different light. I thought I loved you. I thought I knew you. But, you were manipulating my reality.
Your lies started to unravel. It starts when I hear less and less about your uptown office. I ask you if you still have it. You reply, “Yes.” When I start asking more questions you seem annoyed and change the topic. I would find out months later you no longer have it because you cannot afford it. You put on a suit to go sip coffee at a nearby coffee shop. You are trying to give off the appearance of a rich businessman. But, I know better. You tell me you are now making “6-figures” a year, yet you are always broke.
You are angry when I ask you questions about anything. You disappear and none of your excuses make any sense. You are always hours late with everything. Do you really have such poor time management skills? Or, is there a deeper reason? Do you simply just not care about anyone else’s time?
Slowly, you start becoming mean toward me. It starts with a simple, “You’re an idiot.” and “You’re an ass.” when I ask simple clarifying questions. It escalates over time into “You’re a cunt. Go die. You are a piece of shit. Leave me alone.” It turns into longer and longer periods of disappearing. I don’t hear from you. You don’t acknowledge my feelings. I slowly learn I actually mean nothing to you.
I can’t seem to rationalize with you or understand you. You tell me you’re a mess and don’t want to act this way. You tell me you love me and you are sorry. Then within an hour you can be telling me I am a piece of shit and blocking me. What is really going on?
You’re wife and I finally talk for hours. I tell her everything and she tells me everything. You have been lying to me for months about everything. I don’t know you.
You lie to her. You lie to me. You lie to everyone. I have learned more about you after being away from you than I ever knew while around you. I know you have a shattered sense of self and need a narcissistic supply to keep you going. You stopped getting that from me, therefore you turned on me. Your wife admires you and never challenges you, so you stay. But, you cheat on her daily.
I don’t like you.
I don’t even love you. You shattered my trust in people. You shattered my understanding of the world. However, you taught me many lessons. I always wondered what the purpose of you coming back into my life was. I have learned that it was to teach me a lot about your kind of people and to show me what real love is NOT. So, thank you.
It has been over two weeks since I blocked you.
Freedom has never felt so good. But, like most often with freedom, I had to fight a battle for it first.
