Taking the stones to another level

“Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherd's pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:40

When David was about to face Goliath, Saul gave him a sword and an armor. He wasn’t used to these since he was a shepherd from his youth. So he took it off and carried a staff, a sling and five stones to battle instead - things he was comfortable with.

Sometimes, people think that when we are to face something great or dreams of pursuing something huge, we need to equip ourselves with things of the same level. But today, I realized that it is never about matching the the things we want with the things we need to do, instead, using the resources you are comfortable with and then taking them to the next level. 

David took his humble stones to a higher level when he dedicated it to his God. What are our humble stones? What are the things we normally use in battle? Take these things or habits to a higher level by dedicating it to God. Pray to the Lord to bless these. Pray to God for a special anointing. If your normal strategy is prayer walk, ask God for double portion of anointing when you do that. If it is prayer and fasting, ask God for double portion of Spiritual power and revelation. 

Sometimes, we just need to do the usual but incorporating God’s power to allow us to go into the greater heights. We don’t always need extravagant things to make extravagant experiences. Our good Lord has the power to make the normal things do great!
