Exodus 33:99-11 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door. And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
Through His Son, Jesus Christ, being near to the Father is now possible. The Lord is our friend. He waits for us. He makes way and all we have to do is come near Him.
Before Jesus Christ was born, not everybody was lucky enough to have a face to face encounter with God like Moses did. Only few people had the chance to talk to the Father. But through His only Son, Jesus Christ, we don't need a tent anymore to talk to God because anytime and anywhere, we can talk to Him.
The scriptures today reminds us that we got a friend. Not just a simple friend, but a true confinding friend whom we can trust, who accepts us, and loves us without judgements and limits.
So seek and worship like Moses. And if given the opportunity to encounter God, be like Joshua who would embrace the opportunity and use it to glorify the Lord. Never miss the opportunity to feel the presence of the Lord.
Today's devotion really gives us the infinite measures of how much the Father loves us. We are so loved that He really created ways to be near to us. And that alone is one of the million proofs of how unconditional His love is.
Whenever I heard Toy Story's soundtrack "You've Got a Friend in Me", it really feels like Jesus is the one singing the song, reminding us that we have a friend whom we can always talk to. It somehow gives me the assurance that even if the world may give up on me, they may not listen to me, or they may not be available when I'll need them, God is there, our one true friend available 24/7 to listen to you, to hug you, and to give you comfort.
Have an intimate relationship with the Lord - Going to church is useless if you don't have a real relationship with the Lord. It is hypocrisy. Aim to have an intimate relationship by communicating with Him daily through prayers, reading bible, doing devotion, and showing kindness to other people.
Embrace the chance to talk to the Lord - if you're given a chance to have an encounter with the Lord, grab it! Example, if someone is inviting you to church or to a bible study, lend a time and grab the opportunity to reconnect with the Lord.
You've got a friend - always remember that the Father is your friend, the Son is your friend, the Holy Spirit is your friend. If you feel alone in this world, always remember that you have one friend whos ready to listen and comfort you, and all you gotta do is close your eyes and come to Him. Pray and communicate to Him.
Trust Him - we all have friends who dissappoints and hurts us. But that doesn't mean you don't have good friends. We all have one and that's the Lord. Put your trust in Him and you will never be dissappointed.
