there are like so so many awful things said about maddie burned into my brain. it's on sight for all maddie bashers, especially the ones who pretend like they just want maddie to be a "flawed" character and then go on to say the most blatantly misogynistic things about her history of abuse, her pregnancy, her mental health struggles, her relationship with buck, the fact that she cries(???), etc. and then they fantasize about her being homophobic so they can openly hate on her

oh, okay, actually here's one: i don't really see eddie ever wanting to be captain!

don't get me wrong, i'm not opposed to captain diaz or anything. in fact, i do see the appeal and i enjoy dipping into those sandboxes every now and again! but, in my heart of hearts, my eddie diaz just wouldn't be interested in that! i think he absolutely would be able to handle that kind of leadership role and would be successful at it! but i just don't think he'd want it, y'know? wanting to be captain is much more a buck thing, to me (which. i have LOTS of thoughts about that too, that i feel like go against the grain).

yeah i get that. but i also do want to point out that buddies doom about eddie love interests all the time too. it's not exclusive bt behavior, although theirs is obviously coming from a place of weird schadenfreude i guess. my point is everyone needs to get more normal about women NOWWWWWWWW
