Summary » In the lost half of the Chatzy;
Ezekiel visits Jeremy to take a look at his comic collection. Aimless talking turns into "I miss yous" which in turn brings up the past. They talk about the problems between the two of them and their relationship, settling things and understanding that it's all in the past. The pair also talk about Ezekiel's trip to the hospital, the night of the masquerade dance, and Ezekiel's recent breakup and getting back together with Milo. After they talk, Ezekiel decides to give Jeremy his Christmas presents early. Jeremy receives his gifts, a bracelet and a batman t-shirt, and happily thanks Ezekiel.
And then;
After sharing hot chocolate, Ezekiel asks Jeremy to take him out to teepee a stranger's house. The pair head out to cause some trouble and end their night on a great note.
Ezekiel: "Well if I have comfy and warm sweaters I think I'd fall asleep there but no, I really want to build a snowman it's on my bucket list." He smiled and laughed "Hey no teasing..I'll have you know I can be a bad boy sometimes...." He laughed and then gasped "...that sounded dirty." He added after and just shrugged and brought the mug to his lips reminding himself to blow it a little before he let the warm liquid down his throat. He really wished he would have gone to the dance he planned on dancing with Jeremy that night but like everything else in his life things never turned out the way he wanted them too, he also remembered that day he wasn't the only one who attended the hospital, /great/ he thought wishing he wouldn't have brought up the dance. "I'm sorry I forgot about...what happened to Theo...I didn't mean to bring it up." He said feeling a bit bad now for bringing that up. He drank again from his cup noticing it had finally cooled down and shrugged not knowing what else to say but at the same time he didn't want to say goodbye yet.
Jeremy laughed and licked his lips. "I know you can be a bad boy." The mood shifted and he shook his head before he took another sip from his mug, the hot chocolate was already cooling down. It hurt to think about Theo in that way but he wasn't so sensitive to it now, or at least not as much as he was when it first happened. "Don't be sorry, just forget about it." Jeremy gave a small smile and pursed his lips. He was tired of talking about Theo, there were other things they could talk about that didn't have to be rounded back to that boy. "I wish you could have been there. I was really lookin' forward to seein' you in your tux and even stealin' a dance from you. I would have left early if I hadn't been able to convince Remi to come down." Jeremy looked up at Zeke and raised his brows. "Did Milo go without you or did you two hang back together?" He asked as he tried to recall if he had seen Ezekiel's boyfriend there.
Ezekiel: "Jeremy please" He said feeling his face burn up and his cheeks and ear flush red, he didn't know if that had a second meaning but it made him think about the time they were in his truck and that just caused him to blush even harder. He nodded and listened to Jeremy causing him to blush again but this time it was more subtle "...yeah I didn't think my actions through, if I would've remembered the dance I wouldn't have gone to go get my ass beat." He said shrugging, truth was even if he knew about the dance he was too hurt that day to want to do anything and pushed those thoughts away reminding himself it was the past and it should stay there. "Yeah I was hoping to dance with you too." He said honestly and then sighed at his question "Milo went...we weren't together, he had broken up with me the night before..." He said looking away and just shrugging it off.
Jeremy took a deep breath and tried to ignore the way Ezekiel talked about his accident-- or whatever you could really call it. He couldn't imagine purposely wanting to have the life beat out of you, by a family member nonetheless. Jeremy was about to comment on the way Ezekiel referred to what had happened before his next words caught him off guard. He never really paid attention to the relationships of others, especially in Rowe where they seemed to switch up every few days, but he was sure that he would have heard of Ezekiel and Milo breaking up. "He what?" Jeremy asked, brows knitted, and gaze directed at Ezekiel. "Why?" He asked before pausing and quickly adding on. "Nevermind, we really don't have to talk 'bout that." Jeremy didn't want to risk making their day any more emotional or awkward than it had already turned out to be.
Ezekiel: "I didn't know what I had done to be honest, and don't worry about it I really don't know why he did it in the first place but I couldn't blame him, he was constantly being told I was bound to break his heart." He said taking another sip and shrugging. "But he went to go visit me at the hospital and even though he hadn't done anything wrong I forgave for whatever had made him do it..." He hadn't admitted this next part to anyone but he felt like he had to he hated having things building up inside him because he knew he would eventually explode and that was never pretty. "...sometimes I think he only took me back because of how awful I had looked that day." He sighed but waved his hand. "Forget I said that part, I don't want to pity myself." He said finishing off his hot chocolate and heading to go wash it, he let the water run through his fingers, he really didn't know why Milo had truly wanted a break from him, it was so out of the blue, he sighed and brought himself back and finished washing it up and dried it and placed it back where he found it looking back at Jeremy. "Let's talk about something else yeah?"
Jeremy stared at Ezekiel, listening to his words while trying to hold a straight face and refrain himself from saying anything. He couldn't see why Ezekiel would break Milo's heart and why Milo would even feed into that. Jeremy wanted to tell Ezekiel that Milo was lucky to have him and probably just realized that when he saw him, despite the way Zeke might have looked at the time. "You guys are together now. I'd suppose that's all that matters." Jeremy shrugged and took a large gulp of his drink before jumping down from his spot on the counter. He left the matter at that and looked at Ezekiel as he finished off his drink, trying to think of something else they could busy themselves with talking about. "Have you finished up your shopping?" Jeremy asked, not sure what else he could have said.
Ezekiel: "You're right." He said simply and then smiled at Jeremy "I did, I finished it all today and thank god, I wouldn't want to go later on when it will probably be filled with loads of people." He said crossing his arms and leaning on the counter. "Let's talk about how no matter what you do you seem to come out of a freaking photo shoot...I'm jealous." He said bringing his hand to his chest as he faked being hurt and then laughed. "Let's do something, as much as I like being home, I rarely go out and I want to enjoy my time...with you." He said, sure they were friends but it's not like he could hang out with Jeremy everyday, as much as Milo didn't admit it he knew he would get a bit mad over hanging out with someone he used to like.
Jeremy laughed at Ezekiel's words and shook his head. "Lookin' like this takes a lot of work." He gestured down to his body with a smiled. Jeremy crossed his arms and looked Ezekiel up and down. "You look like you walked out of a sports magazine or somethin' so you can keep quiet." He leaned against the counter and chewed on his bottom lip. "Have anythin' in mind? We can do anything right now. I've got the time." Jeremy grinned as he looked at Zeke. He was happy that he wanted to do something else, Jeremy couldn't remember the last time he properly hung out with the other boy and he had missed the time they spent together.
Ezekiel: "I bet it does." He said smiling and rolling his eyes. He laughed "I don't know why you compliment me so much, I do /not/ look so good, I'm average compared to all the guys in this town." He said his eyebrows raising as if saying that he was right and Jeremy was wrong. "You know what I want to do? I've never done anything bad but I always wanted to teepee a house." He grinned like a little kid who was about to do a bad thing. He jumped and clapped his hands "Now I really want to do that even if you don't join me." He said smiling, he walked towards Jeremy's room and grabbed his jacket. "Can we please?" He said pulling a puppy face while pulling on Jeremy's arm. "Pretty please I'll owe you one." He said smiling and hoping Jeremy would say yes, he didn't know why but he just wanted to do something fun tonight.
Jeremy rolled his eyes playfully and pushed himself away from the counter. "You can stop talkin' now. I think you happen to be far from average." With that, he laughed at Ezekiel's request. "Are you serious?" He said with a grin, trying to remember the last time he did something so innocent yet mischievous as teepeeing a house. Jeremy followed Ezekiel to his room and shrugged off the boy's hold on his arm. "We're doin' it. Stay here for a minute." With a wide grin, he made his way towards the bathroom and pulled out six rolls of toilet paper from beneath the sink. He walked back over to Ezekiel and shoved the rolls into his arms before turning away with a smile. Jeremy walked into his parent's bathroom and took whatever rolls they had before returning back to Ezekiel. "Let's do this." He said eagerly.
Ezekiel: He rocked on his heels as he waited for Jeremy to come back and was filled with toilet rolls instantly, he grinned and yelped. "Yay!...I sound like a little girl." He said laughing as they walked to his truck, he threw the rolls to the back and drove around town trying to pick a decent house to do it to, he was getting nervous biting his lip. "This one." He said not really caring whose house it was, he quickly got out of his truck and took a couple rolls with him and caught up to Jeremy. "How do we do this?" He whispered but with excitement evident in his voice, he hid behind a bush because he was still scared and saw people walking by, he pulled down Jeremy with him and ignored the fact they were inches apart. "Do I just throw them? I don't know, now I'm scared." He said laughing nervously and biting his nails.
Jeremy was giddy and excited, hardly able to sit still. Once Ezekiel found the perfect house, he was already thinking of ways they could completely cover it. They had enough rolls to really make a mess. Jeremy held the rolls of toilet paper close to his chest as he walked with Ezekiel, trying to stay out of sight. He jerked and almost dropped a roll when Ezekiel grabbed him but still managed to keep calm. Jeremy turned and looked at Ezekiel, their faces only inches away from each other. "Shh! It's goin' to be sick." He said excitedly and turned away, looking towards the passerbys and watching as they walked away. Jeremy turned back to face Ezekiel and leaned forward, nudging him with his shoulder. "We've got this. Come with me." He said as he stood up again and started to unravel the end of one roll. Once Ezekiel was by his side, Jeremy started demonstrating. "Unravel the first bit of the roll and then just throw it up." Jeremy aimed at a tree and watched as the end of the roll fluttered in the wind and caught on a branch, falling down and draping the tree just right.
Ezekiel: "Okay" He whispered looking back and everywhere else to see if anyone was watching but it was empty around them, he watched Jeremy focus and throw the roll and then he nodded. "Got it, looks easy." He said smiling grabbing the roll like Jeremy had and threw it on a branch but it broke off half way he huffed and tried again squinting his eyes and aiming, biting his lip in concentration and throwing it over the branch perfectly. "Yes!" He said a bit too loudly and giggled, the rush of doing something so small yet so fun because they could get caught at any moment filled Zeke and he laughed running around the house repeating the actions. "So much fun" He said his eyes filled with light as he smiled at Jeremy. "Thank you." He said quickly pecking his cheek and left to go teepee the other half of the house.
Jeremy laughed and stood in his spot, watching Ezekiel run off and wondering if the boy had really meant to kiss his cheek but brushed it off. Jeremy finished off one roll on the tree in front of him before running off to join Ezekiel's side. He stood and watched Ezekiel for a moment, laughing quietly at how much fun he seemed to be having. This was one of the better nights Jeremy had had in awhile and the strange thing was, it didn't involve drugs, alcohol or sex, just comics, hot chocolate, and teepeeing. With broad grin on his lips, Jeremy ran up to Ezekiel and caught him by the waist, pulling him into his side and swinging him around a few paces. "Looks like they're goin' to have some real trouble cleanin' /that/ up." He laughed as he gestured towards Ezekiel's handiwork.
Ezekiel: As he ran to get more rolls he was stopped by Jeremy's arm around his waist he laughed and looked around to see the mess they had made. "I feel so bad..bad is in like a bad-ass delinquent." He chuckled and nodded in agreement. "Imagine their faces in the morning...priceless!" He said grinning from ear to ear, he was having so much fun and he loved it, and thought if this is how Jeremy and his friendship was going to be then maybe it wouldn't be as bad as he had thought before. He hugged Jeremy tightly "Thank you for being so awesome and agreeing to something twelve year old kids would do." He said laughing and then grabbed the last couple of rolls and rolling them out on the bushes and one the floors. He wished this time would not end but he knew it was almost ending and soon he had to say goodbye to Jeremy, he brushed it off and just enjoyed the moment, he watched Jeremy finish off his rolls and smiled and whispered "Start the car now." He said handing him the keys for his truck, he walked towards the entrance and felt his heart jumping out of his chest, he prepared to run as he rang the door bell and sprinted as fast as he could to the car, opening it quickly and said tired and out of breath. "Back up, back up, I want to see their faces."
Jeremy was thoroughly enjoying his time with Ezekiel, having more fun than he thought he would have with him. He laughed at Ezekiel's pun and returned his tight embrace, laughing as he did so. "Don't mention it. I'm up for this kind of nonsense any time." Jeremy grinned as he thought about the other things they could get themselves into. He walked around and kicked a few rolls as he watched Ezekiel put on the finishing touches. He took the keys from Ezekiel and clutched his side, trying to hold in his laughter. "I've got your back, Zeke." Jeremy winked and watched as Ezekiel walked up to the front door. He ran over to the car and hurriedly revved the engine, watching in excitement as Ezekiel rang the doorbell. Zeke jumped in the car and Jeremy followed his directions without another word, reversing the truck just as a couple emerged from the house and looked at their front yard in disbelief. Jeremy put the car in drive and sped off just as the male figure started towards them and the lady started to yell. "Holy shit." Jeremy laughed as he glanced over at Ezekiel. He held his hand in the air and waited for Ezekiel to high five him as he bent over the steering wheel in laughter.
Ezekiel: He laughed at the couples reaction and sunk down on his seat as he saw them approaching the car and thank god Jeremy had sped off, he laughed again and high fived Jeremy. "That was so much fun!" He said happily and laid back on the seat letting himself calm down his heart rate. As they drove back to Jeremy's he smiled sadly and turned to Jeremy and grabbed his hand placing a small kiss on it. "I had loads of fun today and thank you again for everything, so much fun." He smiled and then got out of his car and opened the door for him smiling and then hugging him. "You can take the comics tomorrow at school, all that illegal stuff made me too tired right now." He laughed and poked his arm. "Have a nice night Jeremy and take care. I hope you had as much fun as I did because I really did have fun." He smiled sweetly.
Jeremy tried to calm himself as he drove back to his house, stifling his laughter and taking deep breaths. "That was fuckin' great." He said happily and smiling, even though he figured that this is where their night together would end. There honestly wasn't a single complaint he could think of though, the night had turned out better than expected. Jeremy parked and turned to listen to Ezekiel, his chest tightening a bit as the boy placed a kiss to the back of his hand. Nearly at a loss for words, Jeremy was about to climb out of the car but stopped when he saw the old sight of Ezekiel making his way to open the door for him. He greeted the boy's embrace and brushed off the actions, it was all just habit for someone as nice as Ezekiel. "Illegal, right." Jeremy laughed and nodded. "I'll find you as soon as I get there and hand 'em over to you." He smiled back at Ezekiel and brought him in for another loose hug. "You have a great night and I'll see you tomorrow. Thanks for comin' over. That was more fun than I've had in a long time, seriously." Jeremy pulled away and gave Ezekiel a small wave before shoving his hands in the pockets of his jacket and turning to walk back up to his house. "Night, Zeke!" He called out over his shoulder before slipping back inside his house.
