"The same way anyone else does." He shot back, irritation flickering through him at the exact reason that he'd been caught in the first place. Honestly, it wasn't his fault this place was a goddamn maze. How was he supposed to know that the room he'd walked into was a marine break room filled with an entire group of bloody captains? There was also no way he'd ever admit that they'd gotten the jump on him with a bloody bottle to the back of the head.

Shifting slightly where he stood, arms tightly bound behind him and swords in the hands of another marine he leveled his sharp gaze on Luffy. One dark brow arching slightly as he added. "How'd they catch you?"

"Yeahhhh, I changed my mind." The words fell slowly, the first one drawn out - because it was highly likely Cassian was going to ask her why, and right at that second she didn't know. As in a reason was there, most definitely, she just couldn't put her finger on it.

Yet, anyway. Thera watched the diplomat they were supposed to be making contact with as he crossed the room, giving out polite nods along the way, and her eyes narrowed just a touch. "Call it instinct." Surely Cassian would understand the feeling, even if he didn't trust hers.

"Oh really? And what makes you say that?" Darcy smiled as he walked by his musician friend. His routine had changed at least a little, his work hours had shifted about two hours later in the day this week, getting him home about two hours later, but he was surprised Orpheus had noticed. They hadn't talked much beyond Darcy tossing him a few dollars every couple of days and complimenting his songs. But it was nice to know that someone had noticed.

He nearly tripped over his own feet, gaze shooting first towards Nami and then flicking around them before returning to the navigator. The comment was so out of the blue he wasn't even really sure what to do with it. Sure, he knew she would. Had known that for a while now ever since Aarlong's Park, though before that he'd doubted that she would stand in the way of harm for any of them.

It was the fact that she was verbalizing it that had him so concerned even as he tried to brush it off. "Did you hit your head on a rock or something?

He paused, slowly dropping his gaze from the staring contest he'd been having with another dinner in the restaurant to Luffy at his side. A bottle of beer in one hand as they waited for their captain to finish eating. "You do realize that's not how that works right?"

Powers weren't magic. They came from devil fruits...but then again knowing Luffy.... "You are talking about devil fruits right?"

Reaching out he caught her arm to prevent her from continuing to run. Pulling her to a stop and moving around to stand in her way. "I'm not telling you not to fight."

Naturally, he ignored the fact that this was pretty much what they did anyway on a daily basis. But not like this. Not when tears were running down her cheeks and her fury wasn't the kind that would aid one in battle. "You're not alone anymore."

"Well, that's a good thing then," Darcy smiled along, happily patting Orpheus on the back. They had gone to an arcade bar just down the road from Orpheus' normal playing spot, and Darcy was doing a terrible job at playing a dancing game. For an IT person, he had about as much rhythm as one would expect. But it made for a wonderful night. "We should do this more often. It's nice to see that smile of yours."
