SURPRISE ATTACK

Eclipse trembled on the ground, his entire body shaking with fear.
Someone had yelled on TV and it had scared him, making him drop to the ground in fear. Of course, he was size of full grown human being, enough to make everyone look up.
In the middle of the living room, Shadow and Silver were confused, but Wade leapt up, "Hey, it's okay," he said softly, his voice close to a a whisper. "That was really scary, wasn't it? You're okay, you're safe, no one is going to hurt you."
Eclipse whimpered.
"I know, sweetheart," Wade continued, sitting down next to him. "That wasn't fun was it. It reminded you of something in the past, didn't it? But that's not your fault. There was nothing you did to deserve that."
When Eclipse looked up at him, Wade kept talking. "But you're safe now, nothing bad is going to happen to you. You are completely safe."
He saw yearning the those yellow eyes, and asked, "Do you want a hug? Would that help?" He didn't know if it would or not, Shadow had never been too cuddly of a person.
A moment later, Wade had a 5'10'', full grown alien trying to cower in his lap, holding onto his for dear life. At least he wasn't that heavy. This was good to know for the future.
Coming up next to him, Shadow's face was full of concern, "Is going to be okay?"
"He will," Wade told him. "He just needs some love and care right now."
