Great Trips often Start or End in Liverpool.

Our trip planning for a 3 night city break to Marrakech in December 2025 were well and truly scuppered after catching the Flu Bug in November in Benidorm.

Neither of us felt up to it - so we cancelled the flights and our pre-booked accommodation.

But, we decided to keep our overnight Liverpool stay, which was already planned for our late afternoon return flight from Morocco.

The Staybridge Suites on Keel Wharf had already sparked our curiosity - and so, we added an extra night for good measure!

We've found a place we really like and have already returned in February 2026 - a 1 night stay before we headed to Malta from LPL John Lennon Airport. My Google Review for our second stay at the Staybridge Suites by IHG can be read through the blue link above.

Where to next? Great Trips Often Start or End in Liverpool. Sadly, we had to cancel our Marrakech citybreak due to illness but already planned to stay at the Staybridge Suites near the M&S Bank Arena, on our return to LPL airport. So we kept the apartment reservation, added on an extra night and enjoyed 2 nights in Liverpool instead! We've returned again since then, staying 1 night before we departed for Malta and hope to stay again later this year. Great studios or 1 bedroom apartment accommodation and comfortable public areas. #wheretonext #citybreak #traveltok #liverpool #shortbreak #traveltrip

My 21st birthday is in two days and all my plans have failed so now I'm not even excited .. happy birthday to me..

Well fuck...

We've had our itinerary planned for a few weeks now, and that took some doing! And then Mum got this in her email yesterday.  Why they let us make reservations for three nights knowing they were closing for the season I'll never know.

Now we need to find somewhere that can take us for those three because it seems silly to stay here and then be kicked out for one night...  Buggers.

So I disappeared for two hours today without telling mum where I went because I was going to order her birthday cake for tomorrow.

And so she asked me where I was:

Me: *skips question entirely and offers a slice of cake* I went to try to find you a cake but I didn't have enough cash so this is all I could afford.

Mom: Aww. Thank you sweetheart bit it's okay. I'll just buy a nice big cake tomorrow so we can share.

Me: *in my head* asdfghjkkklkkl no, dang it fudge not supposed to happen this way abort mission ABORT MISSION !!!!!

Me: it's okay. I'm on a diet remember?

Mom: but it's my birthday.
