And here I am, without much to share visually AAAAAA BUT HEY! I decided to compile my fav bunch of art I did during those years of the Reboot/G2 that made me rediscover such a cool franchise (and the last artworks are two of the most modern ones).
Plus, I can really say that without these art experimentations, I wouldn't have developed so many of my modern rendering techniques!
So, cheers to it and everyone that keeps enjoying it and/or found a muse in it like I did x)
This brand too has the privilege of being my true first robot hell bahaha
Decided to share this for the (late) Bionicle day!
This thing has right now... 10 years hanging around my bookcase 💙 I sculpted it with cold porcelain during the 2015 reboot.
Photo session and extra ramblings about it under the cut!
Sadly, during January of this year, while cleaning up my bunch of figurines (including this one), it slipped from my hand! (I still feel the pain from it).
Its zamor launcher-arm broke (glued it again, but it was difficult, because of a missing/chipped away fissure) along with its first crest-spine (that I managed to repair with more cold porcelain, but it doesn't look as good as before).
Still, I'm amazed by how much detail I put into it! Tho, is noticeable in some parts, I struggled (until that day, I never sculpted biomech critters). I remember using ink mixed with acrylics to achieve that water-diluting effect on the detail-lining (technique I keep using on modern sculptures).
Turn-around gif for extra viewing pleasure!
Idk another thing that surprises me is, of all characters I could have decided to do a figurine for, I decided he would be the one... then 10 years later here I am, giving him proper love in the form of art, even if silly 💙
