Sometimes in the moment we don't see any other story being written except the one where we hold the pen. The weight of life becomes too much to bare and we struggle to write another word. Like a spectator who watches the artist and only sees an incomplete canvas of seemingly random colors and wayward brush strokes. Our input is not needed. Our advice not regarded. The direction has been set. Every stroke determined. The painting will be as planned. And when the painting is complete and we take a step back, we will look in wonderment at each day, both the good and the bad, and say "without today, the story is incomplete." So paint on... your story is not complete. Paint like no one is watching. In time, the Master will pull us back from the canvas and reveal the purpose of each stroke. Today's one of them.
