Montserrat’s StudioXL Program’s first project for XLPlay is ‘Project Light.’ Five student teams presented excellently creative game concepts and prototypes around the theme of light using materials such as crystals and mirrors. The following mentors attended the presentations: Larry Harris, Owner and designer for Harris Game Design; John Sutyak, US-based Executive Vice President for Digital Development Management, the world’s leading video game agency; Steven Strumpf, Owner of Steven Strumpf Design located in Rockport, MA; and Boris Berenfeld, President and CEO at International Laboratory of Advanced Education Technologies, Ltd Inc, who was present via Skype from Milan, Italy. Today, STEAM is being used more and more to define education. It represents STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) with the additions of ‘Art’! Project Light is a great example of what Art can do to make Science learning fun. #STEM #STEAM #gamedesign #wherecreativityworks #montserratcollegeofart (at Montserrat College of Art)
