Hiatus Challenge - Day 1
Day 1: How you got into Glee
The year was 2009. I had just entered my second year of graduate school away from my home province. My close friend from high school decided to attend the same university and we ended up being roommates. Knowing of my love for all things musical, she told me about this new show that was on TV that she thought I'd love. I told her that sounded awesome and then proceeded to not watch the show.
Now…she didn't stop after that first attempt and every so often she would remind me that I should give the show a try. Fortunately for her, those persuasive attempts were not in vain. The first Glee hiatus took place as I was trying to write my MA thesis; the procrastinator within was released, and I finally gave the show a try. Needless to say after the second episode I was hooked, and my love for the show slowly grew over time. I proceeded to justify my growing obsession with the show by referring to it as my 'musical education' seeing as prior to watching the show I could barely recognize anything 'Top 40' but was quite familiar with music from the 80s or from musicals.
