So, this is way more of my private life than I want to let out, but I'm privileged to not be hurt worse by this. I also want to share it so that I have a little extra protection after the email I just sent to a bunch of government/adjacent people detailing all of the abuses perpetrated here to other citizens and tenants. My grandfather lived, worked, and died here. My family is part of this city. There is so much beauty here that is currently being ignored or squashed beneath well heeled boots. As with banks scooping up foreclosed properties that they helped to trick people into defaulting on -- there are people profiting off this broken system. Worse still, they claim this to be quality housing. I don't want to be afraid of speaking truth to power anymore. I am and likely always will be. I just hope it can make some change. I can't be the only one having these issues. There are agencies designed to help with this. They know about. They were supposed to come inspect it even ... somehow that never happened.
