Uber 'unsettled' director of communications of Google

Whetstone’s departure is a serious loss for Google.

Rachel Whetstone, senior personnel Google has just become vice president for policy and new media Uber. This position belongs to David Plouffe earlier.

She has held key positions at Google since 2008, also is one of three female leaders named in the list of top-level personnel and is a trusted advisor to leaders Google including Eric Schmidt, Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

David Plouffe will join the board of Uber and has assumed the role of adviser to the company and CEO Travis Kalanick, meanwhile, Whetstone will be in charge of the daily tasks related to policy and communications array .

The transfer of personnel is a sign that the Uber and Google, one of the partners of each other, are fast becoming rivals.

2013, Uber has received large sums of money invested (at the time) 258 million from Google Ventures, Google’s chief legal officer David Drummond joined the board of Uber meantime.

But two years ago, the two companies have been less friendly to each other and began to compete more directly in areas such as transport and roadmap.
