Harbinger of Decay by Alexandre Noyer
Mustering troops for the Skeleton War -- "Painting Skeletons" by Mike McVey, in the center of the Warhammer Rulebook from the 4th edition box set (1992), showing figures built mostly from the plastic Skeleton Horde box. This was one of the best ways to paint old yellowed bones stained by contact with soil, until the invention of Skeleton Horde contrast paint.
Base white. Wash with 2 parts brown ink + 2 parts yellow ink + 1 part water. Drybrush some highlights, just a couple of lighter colors or more as desired. The skull gets a little more attention, but still very quick to complete in batches.
Recently did an art test for Games Workshop! Was asked to design an original Imperial regiment and a special Orc/Goblin character with a mount for The Old World. Unfortunately I was on holiday, so I had to do most of this on iPad :)
I just wanna gush about how fucking cool Sigmar is. He's utterly devoted to liberating all of mortalkind from Chaos and tyranny. He befriended his old enemies from the World-That-Was, Nagash and Gorkamorka (probably not the best decision, all things considered, but it's the thought that counts), He's Superman if Superman was a Viking god, he's 100% convinced that anyone can be redeemed if they're given the chance. He hates being a god and just wants to go back to the good old days of fucking around with his bros in Reikland, but he knows that he has to use his incredible power to protect the innocent. He has a whole aspect of himself dedicated to liberating the oppressed. He encourages people to cultivate the best possible person they can be. He's a hotheaded, stubborn idiot, and he's working on himself. He refuses to give up, no matter how beaten down or hopeless things look, he'll fight until he's in the fucking ground. I fucking love him he's so unbelievably cool. My favorite aspect of Sigmar is definitely the Liberator: "Sigmar the Liberator is an aspect of Sigmar worshipped by the people of the Free City of Glymmsforge. He is seen as a liberator of the oppressed, a savior of tormented souls, and the seneschal of the Mortal Realms." One of these days I want to commission an art piece of Sigmar handing a gun to a Reclaimed so they can go fuck up their oppressors. Some sick ass quotes from the Last Unberogen, mostly from the short story "Pantheon" by Guy Haley: "Many chose Chaos because they had no other choice. They can be redeemed, even those whose hearts may seem black." "I wish you to invest in them a love of all that is natural and alive, to appreciate its power and fecundity. If they learn to follow the rhythm of life’s wondrous patterns, fewer of them will be tempted to fear its end." "You have become warlike to respond to a time of war, but you must reach inside yourself, and find that gentler creature you once were. We need to look beyond the end of this war, and prepare for peace. If we do not, then there will be another golden age, but soon enough Chaos will return and shatter the realms anew." "Maybe war and Chaos are the only constants of reality,’ he said. ‘But I do not have to accept it, and I will fight it for all time if I must. I cannot believe this is how the realms were meant to be." And now a Warhammer Fantasy quote: "On my dooming day, I walked amongst the tombs of my forefathers and saw our land laid out before me. I saw the sprawling forests and scattered towns within it, like islands in a dark sea. I saw the strength of men, but I also saw frailty and fear as people huddled together behind high walls that separated them from one another. I felt the jealousy and mistrust that will forever be our undoing in the face of stronger enemies. I have a great vision of a mighty empire of men, a land ruled with justice and strength, but if we are ever to stand a chance of realizing that vision, we must put such petty considerations behind us."
Abyssal terror for my vampire lord
My friends immediately started to question what I meant by this
Knights Panther Preceptor.
Hello!!! I’m K.83 (pronounced Katie) and I’m making this blog as a space to post my progress on my minis and talking about my journey as a model painter.
I’ve been painting miniatures since about 2018, starting with the space marines from the warhammer 40k 8th edition first strike set. They were not very good but i did my best ^w^
All things considered, they’re not bad for a first try. Didn’t have primer and i didn’t try to edge highlight because my hands were too shaky but the paint had a good thinness and i didn’t overdo anything.
I also learned from day one that i HATE basing. No matter how fancy or how simple i do it, basing is always the worst part of painting the mini so i just don’t lol.
Nowadays I’d like to think I’m a lot better
Even if it doesn’t always work out, I’m always trying new things to improve my skills.
As you can see by my lineup, I paint a lot of vampire counts and iron warriors, but also collect adeptus mechanicus, and I’ll paint about anything I can get my hands on!
These kingdom death minis are my favorite things that i’ve painted. The one on the left is where i really figured out how to paint skin, and the one on the right is a silly hatsune miku thing ^w^
