So I saw #that post in Luke's tag and look, for my own sanity I generally ignore the stuff that goes on in that particular corner of the fandom, but this one has really thrown me for a loop, so I have a couple of things to say. I'm really the meme below because I truly don't know if I should be rolling on the floor laughing or calling the authorities for help.
That post was spewing some drivel so shockingly incoherent & delusional that I couldn't resist the impulse to check the blog out, and that's when I stumbled upon their pinned & I'm not even gonna lie to you all, looking at its intro, I pulled out the popcorn lmao I was so ready to be entertained 😭 and I was entertained to an extent because I cannot help but treat clownery for what it is and point & laugh, that being said, there's another part of me that kept thinking "I don't think people are supposed to clown this much, this isn't normal levels of clownery by any means" so I also came out of it very concerned.
There's one main thing in their pinned post that had me tweaking BAD lol: at some point in the post, the blogger talks about how angry they were when some pap photos of Nicola & Jake surfaced, and the media picked it up & claimed it was a confirmation of their romance meanwhile, Nicola had said nothing to confirm it, so it made them angry because all that happened is that paps took photos & the media went on to draw their own conclusions. And I was like ????? Dude, do you hear yourself? You were angry that the media went on to draw conclusions & claimed things that were unconfirmed by the people involved?? Oh, really?? But isn't that EXACTLY what this ENTIRE Lukola craze of yours has been about: drawing conclusions, very invasive & quite frankly disturbing ones at that, from things absolutely unconfirmed by the people involved?? Their ENTIRE post is about taking snippets of these strangers' lives and twisting, turning, flipping, bending & stretching them for whatever meaning they need to feed their narrative, but somewhere in the middle of it, they just had to take a stand against the press' REVOLTING assumption that a sighting of 2 people being cozy could confirm a romance! You lot can blur the lines between reality & fiction to attribute some of Luke & Nicola's thoughts, feelings, actions & claims about their characters on a tv series to their real life selves but how DARE the press think that two people seen in an embrace could mean they are romantically involved lmfao like, are you genuinely having me on right now?! THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE, MATE!!! LOOK INWARD!!!!
Another thing that I found so freakin hilarious is how, very conveniently, everything that doesn't align with their narrative can be easily explained away, is an oddity or an inconsistency, but everything that fits their narrative makes undeniable sense & is so solid it's damn near a hard fact. Like how Nicola & Jake being touchy-feely at some event is nothing to write home about as far as a romance between them is concerned, because Nicola is touchy-feely with everyone, but check this out, Nicola being touchy-feely with Luke during the press tour tho? a POIGNANT expression of their romantic love!!! can't you see????!!!! THEY. ARE. SO. CLEARLY. IN. LOVE. They can't keep their hands off each other!!!!! Nicola & Jake, touchy-feely? FRIENDSHIP!! Nicola & Luke touchy-feely? UNDENIABLE LOVE!!! Lmfao like, what's next in that crazy little world of yours? 3+1 equals purple or something?? Is the logic in the room with us right now 😭😭😭😭😭
Honestly, I think the whole thing just relies on people being really delusional about theirs as well as Nicola & Luke's importance. No, because look, no shade AT ALL, but really, neither you lot nor Nicola & Luke are important enough for this insane story you guys have concocted to be real. You are not important enough that Nicola & Luke need to go to these deranged extents to "manipulate" you. Plus, many public figures much more famous & powerful, and much more hounded by the media & the public than Nicola & Luke have been able to have relationships in the public eye while not going to these insane lengths you lot are claiming they're going to, and still maintain privacy. I promise you, people simply do NOT care about what is going on in their private lives as much as you claim they do to the point where they need to do all this nonsense to "protect" themselves. "They need to protect their love because the whole world is watching them" no the fuck it's not lmfao no one is after them like that (no one that you haven't incentivised into going after them at least, like you lot have done with DeuxMoi), just like no one outside your unhinged echochamber cared that much about Luke bringing his girlfriend to his premiere. He did not ruin anything except your bubble of insanity. It was a PR nightmare for no one except a couple of you losers. Get a damn grip. And if anything, YOU 🫵 are the only ones they need to protect themselves against. YOU 🫵 are the only ones who have been invasive & disrespectful to them and their loved ones. Not the public. Not the media. YOU 🫵, the shippers, are the only weirdos in the room. YOU 🫵 are the only nuisance around here. And that's why I'm even saying all this tbh. Because you guys keep claiming that if you're proven wrong (nevermind that it might as well be impossible to prove you wrong because you've decided long ago that your version of events is the truth no matter what), you'll gracefully take the disappointment when you have already proven at LENGTH that that will never be the case. There isn't a single scenario that includes a normal conclusion to this madness, there isn't a single way this ends (will it ever end?) without one of Luke or Nicola or both being treated horribly by these shippers. It's already been happening, and it will almost certainly only get worse. I certainly can't dictate what you do, but I can tell you how no part of this is normal or sane. The level of involvement into these strangers' private lives in & of itself is already not normal, let alone the ways in which said involvement manifests. Because see, you might think that because this post is obviously critical of Lukola shippers, I have some allegiance to Jakola or Luketonia (all these ship names are ugly as FAWK, my gosh 😭😭😭😭), but the truth is I have no thoughts on anything. Literally, I have NO OPINION on ANY of these people's private business, and I know nothing about anything on who they're dealing with because I DO NOT KNOW THESE PEOPLE. One thing that the Lukolas do get right is that we know nothing of what goes on behind the scenes. I agree with them on that wholeheartedly. The only difference is that because I know that I know nothing, I don't go on to invent lives to these people based on my personal wishes because that's really where the crazy is, isn't it? Going from "god, I wish Nicola and Luke were together!" to "I know that Nicola & Luke are together and married and have a baby," which you can't possibly know unless they told you, which they haven't. So I just do what normal people do and mind what affects me, which is the art & entertainment they provide us through their work. That's why we are all here. That's why we know their names, and that's all we truly know about them. So why not keep it at that? Please, be normal.
