Since you have a complete story named for it, what is your biggest what if with the show without counting Jay and Hailey's last episodes?
I have two big what-ifs with Chicago PD:
First is Covid. Precautions during filming is where the really centric episodes came from. I have no idea why they're still doing them now, but I would have loved to see how the show would have evolved if they were never needed.
Second is the transition from 9A to 9B, and if Eid never moved to a different show. I actually think 9A set up a big change in dynamics beautifully. You had the power shift between Jay and Voight that was years in the making, Jay and Hailey married, Voight, Hailey, Jay, and Trudy knowing details of the Walton case that Kim, Adam, and Kevin didn't. If there was ever a time to really lean into the team and shifting dynamics after almost a decade, that was it. Instead, all those new changes were pushed aside. In the second half of the season, we got Escano and Anna taking up a lot of screen time to not really go anywhere and Makayla kidnapped for no good reason. Everyone got back on their hamster wheel. I want to know what the show would look like if it had evolved as it was set up to.
