I really love this whimsical 2017 dome home in Mount Gilead, OH. 2bds, 2ba, 1,628sqft, $335k + $318/mo HOA (there are amenities).

I love turquoise and this is a preview of things to come inside the house.

Roof with a little cupola.

I don't think I've ever seen a dome w/stone walls.

It's nice and light in here and the walls aren't white plaster. Also, look at the flooring.

Love the turquoise dome. The quilts draped over the railing tie in beautifully with their color scheme. I like the stone and light wood, too. They've got one of those Big Ass Fans and it probably really makes a difference.

Big, bright kitchen. Nice big dining area with a wall of shelving and sliders to the sunroom.

It gets a lot of nice sunlight. I like that the counter extends out- if it's too short, it's awkward.

Very nice sunroom.

Big shower with hints of turquoise.

Light wood walls in the primary bedroom and a turquoise-stained ceiling. This is so cheerful.

This is a dream- a craft corner in the loft and it's part of the 2nd bedroom.

And, look at this- the cupola has a sky mural. Love this.

Lovely gardens, a small deck and path to the garage.

This 1840s townhouse in Brooklyn, NY is not for sale, I found it in Architectural Digest, but it's so much fun, colorful, and just my style, that I had to share it. it's owned by architect Melia Marden and Frank Sisi, Jr. and their 2 children.

Come on in. Just looking at the entrance hall shows that it's going to be a fun place.

Look at the living room, right down to the lovely area rug.

The dining room. Where in the world did they get that huge electrical outlet?

The fun yellow kitchen.

I'm gonna say that this is a playroom.

Love the diorama in the half bath. Even the toilet is colorful.

Frank is an artist, DJ, and music producer.

Vintage telephone booth set into the wall on the 2nd floor.

The primary bedroom is just as fun as the rest of the house.

One of my favorite handcrafted homes is off the market, but still listed. The 1993 "Tower House," in Saugerties, NY is so unique, I had to revisit it. 3bds, 4ba, 2,118sqft, $979,800.

The long entrance foyer has long built-in benches.

Then, you go thru 2 pony walls with large columned lamps.

There are little rooms and doors in the curved walls. They may either be closets or small baths.

The house is round, and so is mostly everything in it, especially the built-in features.

Even the floor boards are curved.

The whimsical kitchen is also curved. The lower cabinet doors have copper inserts and the uppers are glass front. Look at the interesting exhaust hood over the stove- it's kind of for decorative purposes b/c there's an old fashioned fan in the wall.

Continuing around, we come to a bedroom. Note that, unlike other round homes, it's not open in the middle- there's another round insert.

The bedroom has a cute little anteroom on the side.

Then you go up to the next level.

Where you'll find a colorful bathroom sink on the landing.

There's a nice family room up here.

That weird thing in the center of the ceiling kind of freaks me out.

The bathroom has an oddly placed toilet, but it looks like it may have been purposely placed there so you can look out of the window.

There's supposed to be a metal shop on the property, where they probably made the copper art panels.

Here's a patio.

This is a little strange.

It looks like a dentist's office, but they probably do facials or something, b/c there's no dental equipment.

And, there's this space, also. They do yoga here or something. The outer buildings can be converted to studios or guest houses.

This is a storage shed made from an old rail car.

That green building may be the metal studio.

There's a nice terrace around the top of the house.

The house is on a lovely 5 acre treed lot. Saugerties, NY is actually where the famous Woodstock concert took place and it's right next to the town of Woodstock.

This cute 1914 home in Batavia, NY is filled with so much whimsy inside and out (the gardens are stunning). 3bds, 2ba, 1,720sqft, $239k.

Enter thru the delightfully colorful sunporch.

Then step into a small hall w/stairs on the left and a doorway to the living room on the right. It's fairly spacious and has an original corner fireplace.

A large double doorway leads to the dining room and French doors open to the sunporch.

And, from the dining room, enter the redone kitchen.

This is lovely in bright blue and white.

Right off the kitchen is this wonderful little potting room.

Back in the hall there's a shower room next to the stairs. Nice stained glass window, too.

Look at how nice this is- original gothic style railings.

The landing has plenty of room for an office.

The primary bedroom has a built-in bureau.

This one is cute, it has a little tropical vibe going on, and a sort of Tiki hut.

The main bath has been remodeled, but still has the original tub.

Bed #3 is set up as a TV room.

And, look at this- next to the attic stairs there's a little conservatory with a skylight. You don't have to make it a conservatory, it's got great light, for the perfect art studio.

The attic is finished and serves as a large bedroom.

The basement is also finished and is a home gym.

Attached to the 2 car garage they have an outdoor deck with barbecue and hot tub areas.

The fairytale gardens feature a koi pond, as well.

There's a garden shed and lots of ornamental statuary.

Here's another nice shed. They really made a great garden on a .27acre lot.

Almost 1 yr. on the market and no takers for this whimsical 2005 modern farmhouse in Wake Forest, NC. It even features an observatory tower. 5bds, 5ba, 5,249sqft, $2.95m. Maybe it's overpriced.

The whimsical decor incorporates many different themes. Look at the entrance foyer- It has a castle door w/a little window, corrugated metal walls and one chalkboard wall, plus a framed old time circus poster. There's a lamp made out of a milking bucket, a horse stall door, and a meandering stone path on the floor. (Well, I said it's whimsical.)

The foyer opens directly into the living room.

The living room features a sculptural stone corner fireplace.

Also right off the foyer, there's the dining room.

The dining room has a wall of shelving and a floating fireplace surround. Love that dining set. A step up, and doors open to the patio.

The kitchen is large and has some colorful countertops.

They used a crackle finish on the sink counters.

Looks like a TV room thru the closet. What is up w/the high elec. fireplaces, though?

All 5 bedrooms are very nice.

This bath has a lovely double vintage sink.

The hallway is kind of a weird layout.

I guess the realtor didn't want to climb up to the observatory tower, so she just took a photo of the ladder. Well, it does have a protective cage.

Then down on the ground floor they have this bunker room. Great for guests and sleepovers.

Outside there's a nice patio with a pool. A built-in slide goes over a small garden.

Tiny screened in porch.

And, this is a nice shady porch on the side of the house.

It has a cute, sunny entrance.

Would you expect the entrance hall to look like this, from the looks of the exterior? The wall is chalkboard and is the wallpaper worn? I don't think it's meant to look that way.

The hall leads directly into the living room with a corner fireplace.

To the side of the fireplace there's a comfy reading nook. Right now, it's a child's area, but it can certainly fit an adult comfortably, too.

The dining room is also off the main hall.
