❈ | — ƲισƖєт prongs of an empress’s headdress would float down before his eyes, followed swiftly by the bright eyes of the woman who owned it. She was upside down, white locks already nearly touching the ground; a sinister smile spreads across her lips, a cheshire cat’s greeting. Righting herself, she alighted on the floor as if she was nothing but a feather, smile prevailing.
“Little bird,” she cooed, “I’ve come to see you again. Remember when we used to play?” she asks, head tilting. A sharp-nailed glove comes forward to run through his hair, the keen points slightly raking over his scalp. “My little pet, I promise not to leave you alone again.~”
⋆ — He’d forgotten all of this. Suddenly it hadn’t been years or months but only weeks, and wide, round eyes slim, lashes fluttering as lips part to reveal straight teeth beneath. “I----...” He started, but the words seemed to get caught in his throat. “Ngh.” It was hard enough to think without his blood rattling around in his veins like it does. “I remember,” but suddenly he wasn’t sure what he wanted to say -- he’d thought on it plenty, but everything seemed to come to a boil somewhere between his ears.
