“...Hey,”
Contrary to what some people might think about him, he wasn’t as dense as he looked. Although he would hardly consider himself in an expert in observation, he liked to think that his observational skills when it came to Anne were pretty exceptional - she was his girlfriend, after all. He couldn’t help but smile at the thought of that. Anne Takamaki was his girlfriend. Some days it was still hard for him to believe, though he certainly wasn’t about to question his luck.
Over the time he’d known her, he’d come to notice little details about her - how her eyes lit up when she was excited or how her brows furrowed when she was upset or angry. Noticing these things was never the problem - but talking about them was something else entirely. He’d be the first to admit that he wasn’t a ‘feelings’ sort of guy - the guy who would wax poetics or spew out flowery shit - and he knew that Anne probably knew that too. Maybe that was even why she liked him - hell if he knew. Still, a part of him ached to offer her some kind of comfort, to try and know why his girlfriend seemed so much more tense than usual, so he went with a different approach.
“If you stare at that paper for any longer, you might end up burning holes into it.” He chuckles, leaning to press a kiss to the side of her face, his face flushing slightly as one hand gently reaches out to rub her back, comfortingly.
“C’mon, tell me what’s up already. I don’t like to see you like this.”
