WHISKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so so so so so sorry it took me so long to answer this ask!! I was in a Mild Depressive Period when it came in and I wanted to wait til I had something positive to say, and then I kinda forgot. Sorry.

ANYWAY!!! The Positive Thing!!!!!

I have finally (finally) finished my book!!!! It's been copyedited and proofread and everything, and I've sent it off to literary agents to see if anyone's interested, and at this point in time, I have about a 1% chance of success, but I'm holding out hope. If you (or any of my other followers) are interested in my Book News, you can follow me on my Writing Tumblr at @corktheauthor (or just send asks there, because I'm more likely to read them because I actually remember to check that tumblr lol).

BUT that's not all!!!! I am now in communication with Actual Authors of Actual Books on Bluesky because my proofreader made a post about my book and now there are, like, 3 people who want to read my book and one of them is a Successful Author TM (who has sold tens of thousands of books, at least), and they said they wanna be friends, and I have no idea when this became my life, but apparently my life is just awesome now.

ALSO, my tutoring has really taken off! I have around 20 tutees from ages 10-18, and I absolutely adore teaching every single one of them, because teaching has been my dream job for literal years and now I get to live both my teaching dream and my writing dream at the same time! It's so cool!!! Life is amazing!!!!!!

Hi, as 2023 begins, I want to wish you a happy new year! 🎉 -Whiskers

Happy New Year to you too, Whiskers! Here's hoping that 2023 is better than... you know... *gestures at everything since 2012*. Still, a new year is an opportunity to start afresh, make positive changes to yourself, and try new and exciting things! I personally will be seeing a psychologist (finally), improving my physical health (hopefully), and working on my book (I'm writing a book, it's so fun)! I hope you also have Super Fun Plans, or at least a bucketload of enthusiasm about potential plans, or that, like, you're generally doing well and managing your mental health and making it through each day, because even if that's all you can do, its still a huge accomplishment and I'm super proud of you for keeping going!!!

Tl;dr: HAPPY NEW YEAR! LET'S GO 2023!!! :D

Hi! Popping in to wish you a Happy Halloween :) Are you doing anything fun to celebrate? I am going to meet up with a friend at a Halloween celebration tonight, so I am excited :D This year, I even got to sew most of my costume myself, and I am very happy with how it came out 😁 And how is Lola? I hope you are both having a good autumn so far 🍂 -Whiskers

Hi Whiskers!! Happy Halloween to you too! This year, I celebrated by going to therapy to confront some Actual Real (inner) demons, putting on Spooky Face Paint for the trick-or-treaters, and quickly removing said face paint when I was unexpectedly needed at my local Brownie group due to a leader shortage!!! It's been a fun day!! :D

Lola is doing good!! She is 10 months old and adorable as ever, and she still gives me lots and lots of cuddles and face licks whenever I come home from anything. Or when I wake up. Or when I've been upstairs for 5 minutes without her. Maybe she's just a very affectionate dog XD

I really really hope that your Halloween celebration goes well/went well/is currently going well, and I bet your Super Awesome Homemade Costume will be the best costume there by a mile!!!

Anyways, Happy Halloween/Autumn (or whatever season y'all are currently in) to all you wonderful tumblrers out there, be happy, be kind, and stay safe. Love you all <3

My puppy is so soooo cool and I love her to bits!! She keeps trying to eat carpets and tables (she's teething, bless her), but she also gives me cuddles and face-licks so I can't really be mad at her!!!

Things are starting to get better again for me. I'm going to therapy to get my mental health sorted, and (exciting news alert) I've got a puppy!!!! Her name is Lola, and I've had her for just over a month. She takes up most of my time but it's we worth it to see her happy little face every day <3
