This took a hundred billion tries and I’ve been practising for three days, but here is a slightly slow kind of sloppy version of Whiskey Before Breakfast. When it comes to guitar (and banjo!) I have always been a finger picker, and using a plectrum is very difficult to me (I think partly due to grip - I have a connective tissue disorder so holding my wrist aloft and holding a plectrum is hard for me), so learning the mandolin and doing the old timey fiddle tunes is a good way at practising that and getting used to that. Am also not a fast left handed person either so that is another skill I’m attempting to acquire. Banjo was easy because I could transfer my guitar skillset straight over, mandolin is hard because I have to learn new things. It’s very rare that I’ve managed to play this song, both parts, all the way through without messing up or stopping so so video is A Very Rare Sight. I am sure my neighbours have had enough of me. I promise not to turn into a Mandolin All The Time insta and will go back to taking photos of signs and things on the ground. #mandolin #whiskeybeforebreakfast https://www.instagram.com/p/CCmAP2ehMj7/?igshid=1fvo7je0sdv5y
