He stared at the results. Positive. So it's true. Kyohi is really his son.

Then, he suddenly had the irrational urge to run all the way to Ame just to demand answers in person from Nao. Would she lie to his face and say she'd told him? send him a letter?.

He knows Sakura is staring at him, wanting an answer. He can almost hear her thoughts "Why do you have a son? Why didn't you know?". Or maybe those were the questions he was asking himself. Why, indeed.

"Thank you, Sakura" Kakashi escaped before her student could ask any questions. He'd eventually have to tell her everything, but not yet. Now until he knew what Kyohi wanted to do. He walked under the morning chill towards the inn. It had only been a day, but, maybe because he'd been unable to sleep, it seemed to stretch impossibly.

He considered jumping onto the windows, just to startle the kids, but discarded it after a moment. No messing around. Not yet.

So instead, he went in, found the room, and simply knocked.

Orochimaru's sole success ( second, if anyone was counting ) fell into this bad habit of staring. A little too close, a little too intense. He could almost hear the skipped rhythm of Hiroki's heartbeat and some weird, foreign emotion flushed over him. Felt bad, no good.

" Oh- " It was odd. He was so used to everyone knowing him, " Mitsuki, ah.. No last name. My parent is Orochimaru ? "

He hopes that jogs the other kid's memory, if not, then he really has no other prominent identifiers. Which would leave him feeling extra strange in his own home.

Dash Thoughts: with @whispersofdeceit Sitting here so touched with this thread because Kakashi remembers very clearly what it was like to grow up without a father. Coming to and going from an empty home, not having anyone there to guide him or offer praise for his achievements--it's a loneliness he doesn't want any kid to go through, especially his own. And now he gets to be the person to fill in the gap. He wants to say and do the things he wished his father had for him. He wants to offer his experience and pass down all his knowledge and advice so he can see this kid rise up and become an even better presence for his kids if he has any. He wants to end a cycle, and I love their relationship already asdfgh.

ᒥ嫌いᒧ—         Zenjiro was bent forward, breathing heavy. Sweat laced his skin, the pale color dusted with the red of exhaustion, work. He had spent hours training, finally, his energy was running low and he needed to pause the vigorous taijutsu training and take a small break to catch his breath before he would continue.

He was happy, training took his mind off most things, but now that he was still and his focus to his surroundings returned, he sensed a chakra approaching. Bright, but odd–The feeling made his stomach twist into knots. As it drew closer, he straightened himself. Why? He wasn’t sure until he turned towards it, calling out towards them in warning.

“This section is in use, currently. Go away.” His voice was cold, tired onyx eyes sending a glare in the direction of such a bright chakra. One glance, he saw the yellow of his chakra, Uzumaki. Zenjiro was aware of only other Uzumaki clan members in the village. He doesn’t do well to hide his surprise, Zenjiro’s gaze focused on Hiroki intently for a few moments, like he was double-checking the blatant feelings of that vivid Uzumaki life force, that's not something to easily mistake. “...” It was clear why the feeling of this signature made his stomach churn...Its not often he encounters someone from the Uzumaki clan.

Summary: Modern AU. Summer break. Sadara was at summer camp and Sai was too busy at work to come along on the road trip to Sakura’s parents house. Sakura thought it would be fun for her and Sayuri to road trip there instead of going by plane and have some fun bonding time on the way down.  Sakura looks at the packed car. “Sayuri I need your last suitcase and the car is ready to go!” She calls to her daughter. “After that its gonna be a whole 3 days of fun down to grandma and grandpa’s” She says with a smile. “Excited?”
