This one hits a bit of a fever pitch toward the end of this sappy off-road fairy tale about a badass who finds himself caught in a bind between saving a best friend from an angry mob led by a jilted father on the hunt for his eloped daughter in the wake of a sabotaged arranged marriage, and his own feelings for the father's second daughter as she's still learning to discover herself and what love is. Nonetheless, #Heropanti is still mostly a fun little romantic action comedy with some great slapstick and silliness in various parts, and a lead who makes it work for his own debut in film as a budding action star with larger-than-life fight scenes suitable for fans especially of Indian cinema. This film isn't for everyone as not everyone can be a Jackie Shroff fan, so take from it what you will. SIDEBAR: The #WhistleBaja sequence is pretty catchy. 😏
