percy’s race is ambiguous but he’s probably white-coded since he’s based off of haley riordan, who is white. i know some people see percy as latino or black, but i did some thinking and:
percy was a wanted criminal at the age of twelve. his stepfather calls him a delinquent punk. he’s often subjected to blame and bullying. if he’s really latino or black, then it kind of rubs the wrong way, doesn’t it? unless you hc him as latino or black because you think the above things are good examples of racism a literal child faces and it makes sense for percy to be treated so brutally because of his race, maybe we can just stick to white percy because it’s inherently less offensive.
