“Utah is the Mecca of...”
Did... did a commercial for Utah appropriate the Islamic holy city?
Mormon’s appropriated the Islamic holy city?
WTF
Just a wild thought but.....
See I'm happy that African music is on the rise and spreading. But what white people are getting their hands on it. What if someone rather than later we got artists like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Miley cirus, Justin Bieber 🙄 etc. dipping their hands in the culture. They'll do to African music just what they did to hip hop. Once again just a wild thought that was in my head.

Elvis WAS NOT the 1st person to sing this song. I heard it sung by a Black Woman in a 1930s Blues recording. THAT SAID, Elvis really made this song his OWN. He sold it. He played with it. He twerked it. He crooned it. He was a great blues, gospel, rockabilly, country and ballad singer. He was a Master entertainer. He really couldn't dance, LMAO. But he was sexy and THAT made any movement he made, cool. HOUND DOG is a coded song about sex made into pop music gold played on radios and now sung by kids. THIS blows my mind.
hey fyi, i'm pretty sure woke is aave and not open for white people to use
Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll stop using it and start telling other white people to do the same.I googled a bit and found a ton of black folks clearly stating that “stay woke” is aave and white folks should not use it, like this post from ms-mix-remixed.
i’ll be honest, i’m still kind of salty about the fact that in elementary and middle school all the boys and girls called me monkey because my thick ass eyebrows and body hair. And now every white girl wanna have dramatic brows. Like my entire family is hairy af and have been since my Mayan ancestors and NOW its cool. Oh alright, i see how it is. :/
