The Balcony - Marie-Louise von Motesiczky ,1929.
Austrian,1906-1996
Oil on canvas , 48 x 60 cm,
I tend to associate the words “curtain call” with the end of something good, like a show, or a play, or a musical. It comes as no surprise then that White Kite’s Curtain Call is a brooding affair. To be honest, we’re still obsessing over the British electronic project’s last sensational single, Swans, but we can’t help but put everything else on hold for this deep entrancing, dark pensive aria. Art rock and chamber pop styled vocals (think Wild Beasts, ANOHNI) drift and unwind over a bottomless chasm of cinematic surging, trip hop haunting production. Despite it’s slow burning pace, Curtain Call is tensely wound. I nearly forget to breath as I traverse its claustrophobic winding passageways. The song sits heavy like water, its intensity a sharp ticking clock in a silent room. The single is out now via Ltd Ltd. You can even purchase a signed 7″, here.

White Kite - Swans
Debut single by the London based 4-piece.
(White Kite) - Devil’s Pact
London’s very own White Kite share a dark and atmospheric new tune titled Devil’s Pact that mixes in guitar melodies and slick synths to perfection and pairs em with a self reflective and deeply personal narrative. Check it out above and catch Louis, Tom and Will launching this one on the 25th of this month at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch where they will be backed by troubadour THØSS and winsomely wonderful VIØLETS!
