( I wanted to doodle more of my vanilla milkshake son, including his differing outfits and also his adorable fire opal brother! Aka @sunshine-and-pinetrees 

They were probably right next to each other in the kindergarten or smth so David considers them twins. Or maybe he considers them twins because they’re the same gem. Who can say? )

((I recommend cabochons though since high quality opals are easily broken in tumblers! The tumbled kind there are common opals often found in thunder eggs which lack the internal fractures that actually give quality opals that spectacular fire! Most of the time, soft stones like opals and turquoise have to be reconstructed to actually make good cabochons, it’s really quite neat!))

(Oooh, not a bad idea! Though at the same time...

‘High quality opals are easily broken in tumblers’ fits in ways that make me very sad but also make me love the idea even more....)

( Me, on the topic of gemsonas: Daniel is a white opal because it’s mostly white with little flecks of color that you can see if you get close enough. I feel like it fits him symbolically. Hannah, aka David: David’s a fire opal because he's got a lot of emotions bottled up inside it and he has fiery ambition.  Me: OPAL TWINS!)
