white underwing (catocala relicta)
– recognizable by the white lines decorating their underwings.
– typically found in the eastern regions of the united states and canada.
– they possess a wingspan of around 7-8 cm, which classifies them as fairly large.
– despite the name, these moths aren’t actually named after their underwing. their name is derived from being white members of the “underwing” moth group.
