After he told me the truth I was angry that I had been wasting my money on that crap for years but at least now I know. Basic Cognac sold here in the states is aged a minimum of 5 years before it is sold. The aging process gives it a darker but smooth taste. #WhiteHennessy was created exclusively for quick turnaround sale in the Caribbean. little to NO aging process. It's less quality than basic Hennessy in the US. That's why it isn't sold here. Unfortunately we somehow thought that since it wasn't sold here.....it must be this " top shelf" Cognac and we immediately began buying it, thus driving the price up.
