in fairness, the trend originated on Shit Twitter with a porn artist, which was how i found out about it. i didn't even know there were people drawing interesting versions of bowsette until i went and looked for it. i just kept seeing people talking about "horny bowser" and hadn't seen anything so i was like ??? what is happenin y'all. but yeah, people are reactionary and shallow, of course it would turn into "discourse" or whatever, it always does.

Hey I hope you’re not takin this as like, a direct response to you or anything, cuz it was more of a general rant with the way Tumblr, and kind of the internet at large handles these kinds of things. I can definitely see where that could lead to that conclusion and thats fair, but like... yeah. This was a much more general thing!

And for the record, the person who made the original meme was actually twitter user ayyk92, who while... they make some slightly risque stuff, it still is all sfw stuff. Not a porn artist at all from what I’ve seen. In fact they seemed to be fairly inactive until somewhat recently, and happened to strike mega gold with their one comic about the concept.

Tons of porn artists have taken it and ran with it though, don’t get that wrong that’s ABSOLUTELY the case, but the actual original source isn’t that.
