Whitetobrown Self Tan Wipes Review
I'm always sceptical of self-tan wipes, who wouldn't be! So when i saw the Facebook page Tan-Tone UK celebrating researching a certain amount of likes, by giving away free whitetobrown tanning wipes, i couldn't resists. All you had to was send them a message with your name and address. I was again, a little sceptical of this, but literally these took A DAY to arrive, so from the start i was impressed!
Now onto the wipes. I received 2x7ml packets which retail for £2.59 (link here) so to get these for free was a winner! On the back it says 'whitetobrown's self tan wipes are enriched with whitetobrown's exclusive and naturally derived formula, which enables you to achieve a fast acting and streak free, golden brown tan'. It is then explained that 'you can use 2 wipes in one application for a full body application, or 1 wipe for application on the face and torso or for a single use application on the legs' Directions for use, are as follows: 'For best results, use after exfoliating and do not moisturise before use. Remove the self tan wipe from the foil and apply evenly and in circular motions to the areas you wish to tan. Apply sparingly to areas such as knees and elbows.' The tan claims to develop in 6-8 hours and to be a streak free formula, something i was eager to test!
When i opened the packet, i was surprised to see the wipe was white and i was glad to realise there was no biscuity scent. They just smelt like your average baby/make-up wipe. I found it hard to apply in circular motions as the wipe bunched up and it was easier to sort of rub, pat and go in circular motions. Also due to the wipe being white and the formula clear, i couldn't tell where i had been and i can already tell that i am going to be having some patchypatchy legs! The wipe also felt dry and i honestly couldn't tell how much product was going onto my legs. A few minutes application i started to smell a strange smell, sort of biscuity mixed with dogfood. It was disgusting. This morning i woke up eager to see how my legs were. They were as i imagined, patchy and streaky. Absolutely horrendous, i am glad i am not baring my legs at all this week! The colour was nice, nice and golden and not orange. I just don't think tanning wipes are the way forward at all. The wipe also appeared to only cover one leg, so i have one golden patchy leg and one white leg with a golden patch.... Overall i am not impressed with this experience and i can easily say i never want to try fake tan wipes ever again. I need my trusty St Moriz! I'm not too peeved as i didn't pay for these and they did arrive fast and they were easy to access, as well as not being orange. In my opinion fake tan wipes should be banned!!
Have any of you tried these wipes or fake tan wipes?
