So unbelievably sad to hear about the passing of my good friend @paulwrath and his father Pablo Jiménez. They both died in a fatal car accident this past weekend. My heart goes out to their family, friends, and Paul’s band. He was 27 years young. Paul was the lead singer and guitarist for the Mexico City band @thecerberusorder and their song “Tekilla” was a big hit on @sxmliquidmetal @siriusxm -I loved supporting their music and at one point we even talked about me helping to manage them. The band’s 1st and only US concert was at my #tacometalparty @afflictionclothing HQ Nov 2019. Paul was always excited to be playing Metal music and representing his culture. Cerberus won a national contest to open for @metallica on the World Wired tour in 2017 & they were all huge #afflictionclothing fans, that’s when they got on my radar. Affliction artist @dvsartbydanscholz designed the album cover for them and raved about them too. Then I heard “Tekilla” and it was instantly one of my fav songs. Hearing Metal and traditional Mariachi music in one song seamlessly blending into each other blew my mind. His father Pablo was the ultimate Heavy Metal Dad and did anything he could to support & fund Paul’s dream of becoming a Metal superstar. They were best friends and it gives me comfort knowing that they both passed together. Before the pandemic they would frequently travel to CA to hang w me. I took them to the @rainbowbarandgrill for the 1st time, they discovered their fav sushi spot that we went to a bunch in Long Beach called #whitewasabi -They were my guests at premiere of @parkwaydriveofficial film #vivatheunderdogs in LA. We even hung out together in Vegas w @melissammangin and we paid a visit to Paul’s fav producer @kevin.churko & the fam @kanechurko @khloechurko to discuss possibly working on a Cerberus song together. Paul loved @5fdp more than any other band in the world. I even joked around one time that they should cover Ricky Martin’s “Living La Vida Loca” and THEY DID!?! Paul just sent me demo version of song that he really wanted @chadnesss to sing guest vocals on. Hopefully we can make that happen still.
