WE LOVE OUR PARTNERS: Whitlows on Wilson
Wow, just wow. No, really though. Our Partner Feature this week is Whitlows on Wilson, Bar & Grill, conveniently creating the acronym "Wow," which is what you'll be saying over and over again once I tell you all about them. You ready to be wow-ed? Ok, here we go.
Whtilows on Wilson is a bar and grill located right in the heart of Clarendon (see, 9:30 Club has friends all over the DMV!). This place is a landmark that started back in 1946 "when David Whitlow opened his bar and grill to the public" in downtown Washington. Since then, Whitlows has gone through a few changes, but it eventually landed in the hands of Greg and Susie Cahill, who re-opened the (once) closed spot in 1995 on Wilson Boulevard in Arlington. But don't worry, this isn't going to be a History lesson, and there's no pop-quiz after. However, I might sneak in a Trivia question - since Whitlows is popular for their Sunday Night Trivia. (See what I did there?) Not only that, but they have half-priced sammys every Wednesday. Half-priced, dankified, delicious sandwiches. AND--they have live music on the weekends, a huge rooftop, and they do not mess around when it comes to brunch. Seriously, this place rocks.
If you need some last minute Memorial Day plans, look no further then their Rooftop Big Roast this Sunday. Rooftop opens at noon, pig sammys will be ready to eat at 4PM, and DJ Pork & Beans (serious lols) will begin spinning at 10PM. Party hardy, ya'll.
