carson flipped through the pages of his worn book, trying to find the page he had left off on the night before with a cigarette poking out of his mouth. He had tried to quit the nasty habit over the course of the summer break but alas, old habits die hard. the sun that had been shining on him had suddenly disappeared causing him to look up at the reason, or better yet, person behind the current lack of vitamin D, “can i help you?” he asked, aggravated that he was being bothered.

“ what ? ” stas’ called out coldly, refusing to stray her gaze from the page she was reading from her book, letting out another venom filled reply before the other person had the chance to talk. “ i’ve been on campus for two fucking minutes and everyone already wants something for me -- i’m not open for business yet so fuck off. ”

Savannah had picked up her scrubs, actually excited for the year--she was starting her first rotation of clinical’s next week, which was obviously a big step. While nursing had never been something she had thought about extensively until she was majoring it, Savvy found herself enjoying it a little bit. Still, she’d rather be in the darkroom. Walking with her headphones over her ears, she didn’t hear when a guy on a skateboard was coming up behind her--he skated right past, splashing her (and her new scrubs) in dirty rain water. Tugging her headphones off and huffing, Savvy ran her fingers through her hair. “Fuck.”

“You can bet your ass that we’re going to kickass at next week’s game.” Emmory promised as the people stood around him, the cold beer can firmly in his hand as he took another long sip. He always loved this about parties, being he center of attention being the starting QB and Captain always bought the attention and Emmory always soaked it up with everything he had, always showboating, promising that their team would remain undefeated.

Throwing his arm casually around a small blonde next to him, he couldn’t remember the name but he was pretty sure it wouldn’t matter when he told her to leave in the morning. “I’m not saying we’re undefeated because I’m the QB and made Captain this year but-” the laughter following them as he smirked and finished off the beer, nodding at the blonde. “Mind getting me another one, babe?” he drawled out, smirking down at her.

Running had always been something that had soothed Caily’s mind, when she was on the track, running at full speed, it felt like everything was lifted from her shoulders and all she needed to focus on was hitting that finish line, even hearing the starting gun was something that could her heart thumping, the thrill of starting that beautiful race, flying past everyone as she steadied her breathing, focusing on making sure she didn’t wear herself out too much.

Stopping as she finally finished her three laps, stopping, placing her hands on her knees and letting out a breath, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she caught her breath, already feeling rejuventated from the run. “Mind grabbing my water, please?” She asked between breaths, nodding to the clear pink water bottle that resided near her duffel bag, offering them a slightly breathless smile.

    ‘         get your hands off me you punk, ’ she scolded at some freshman who tried to grope her body when she made her way through the busy crowd of people that smelled like cheap beer & sweat, mixed with hints of marijuana. ‘ seriously, haven’t freshmen learned any manners at high school ?? or do they still believe they belong at the top of the chain ?? ’ she asked, more to herself than to anyone because she wasn’t talking to anyone in particular.
