The four Engines Stories anthologies released by WHSmith between 1982 and 1985. Each of these books featured five books from the Rev. Awdry's Railway Series compiled together. When I was a kid, I had Further Engine Stories, which featured The Three Railway Engines, James the Red Engine, Henry the Green Engine, Gordon the Big Engine and Edward the Blue Engine. All in all, 20 out of the 26 books Awdry wrote featured in the anthologies. It's a pity WHSmith didn't release a fifth Engine Stories book to finish off with the six remaining RWS books.
