06/03/2019 Just got off work to hit the paints! The second coats nearly there, next step, tonal values! Some people come home from work too tired to do anything creative but to me work cranks me up like a wind up toy, motivates me, inspires me, a nice little break from introspective reflection so that when I come home I can’t help but squirt out all the colours! It’s an outlet, a release for all that I’ve absorbed in a day, using myself as a vessel to turn all the suffering I’ve encountered into maybe something beautiful so that I may bring a little joy back in the world. Everybody’s been asking what it is I do when I’m not working as a nurse and so I have been sharing my pictures and it’s been so lovely to be able to put a smile on someone and if not raise an eyebrow of surprise, if not just for an itty bitty from all that is terrible. #artlife #artthoughts #artjourney #whyart (at Grange Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByRjiRHgHIJ/?igshid=mpurqsfhkp7u

I realised recently that my perception of the reality is never truly captured by the photographs, no matter how good the quality. So early this morning I got an epiphany. The last few weeks I’ve been thinking really hard about why I create and why people like my work. And so at 4:30am I realized why. It was so amazing to finally realize the connections. • Before I reveal my discovery I’d love to know from you guys why you like my art and designs? What is it that resonates with you the most? Is there a particular print you like or connect to? • This art piece is a new piece I created in Mackenzie’s memory. It’s not just bright bold color blobs. But small petals from a cherry blossom tree.
