Hello do you have sources and or calculations to backup the statement of 185 million Jews less bc we were 10% of the Roman pop. I've never heard that statistic before, so I was just wondering. Thank you!

Yeah.  As far as I know it originates in a book called Constantine’s Sword by James Carroll (formerly a Catholic priest), which documents the role of the Catholic Church in anti-Semitism.

The derivation is independently redone by Dennis Prager in this article.  I’ll quote it:

To give an idea of how many Jews have been murdered for being Jews, all one needs to do is look at population statistics. Scholars estimate the population of the Roman Empire at about 60 million at the time of Jesus. According to the dean of Jewish historians, Professor Salo Baron, at that time Jews comprised about 10 percent of the population. That means that 2,000 years ago there were about 6 million Jews. It is also estimated that at that time, the world's population was about 200 million.Today the world's population is over 6 billion. While the world's population is about 30 times larger than 2,000 years ago, the Jewish population has barely doubled. Had Jews been left alone to procreate at the same rate as others, there would be about 180 million Jews in the world today. Moreover, even the 6 million number for the Roman empire represented a huge loss of population due to extensive killing of Jews in the 12 centuries from their inception.

I don’t agree with that last sentence entirely (I don’t think Jews were massacred much more than other peoples prior to the Romans) but that’s the basic math that gets you that number.

One could say that some of these were due to conversions and assimilation, and certainly that is true--but that was also caused by anti-Semitism.  How many Jews would not have become Christians had they not feared for their wellbeing otherwise?

Well, we’ll never know.

But I sure want a world with 200 million Jews more than I want the one we have, where there’s Jewish blood, spilled in hatred, on every continent humans have settled.

Thank you so much for reconsidering your post. It really means a lot and I'm very glad you understand what was wrong now. I apologize if you have been bullied for it because that is really unfair and rude.

Bullied? There are worse things than being bullied. 

I've been bullied all my life. Being bullied is never an issue for me because I expect to get punch. As long as I have guts to say something, I will get some sorta response from it. 

I read what I said. Got new info/feedback. Reconsidered what I said. 

This is my learning process. You make a mistake. You find out what it is. You apply new knowledge. You move on. 

Sadly, there are some times when I learn more slowly. I lost friends because there are times when I'm closed minded or... I can't seem to fully grasp what I was talking about. 

People are quick to add me to lists. I'm kinda slow to add them to lists or block lists because I know I could be wrong.

I left the posts up only to show people that yeah, I made mistakes and I deserve whatever judgement was placed on me. 

Basically... as simple as possible... I told Jewish people to "get over themselves". I'm pretty sure I'm going to be labeled "Anti-Semitic" for the rest of my life, even though I apologized and explained that it was thoughtless of me.

I've been called worse throughout my life. So, there's stuff much worse than being bullied.
