I've been thinking a lot lately about where inspiration comes from. It comes from many places which maybe why it's such a tricky question to answer. Sometimes it's intentional, and others somewhat subconscious. I loved Gremlins from the 80's, and still do. Gizmo was adorable and also very brave when he needed to be. I think his kind goodness may be part of the inspiration for my bean bear characters though I didn't consciously have him in mind when I created them. They share a gentle acceptance of the people and creautes around them. I wanted the bean bears to be curious creatures genuinely interested in understanding the world around them. They are deeply empathetic characters as well. Empathy is something I value very much.
