Understanding the Great Bhagat Singh
Recently i have been reading Selected Works of Bhagat Singh. There is still a lot of things to understand and learn about this man. The movies or documentaries showed us a very small glimpse to the thinking process and vision of the great martyr. As i was reading some of his works in this book, I came across his letter “Why I am an Atheist?” where he explains why he does not believe in religion and god. After reading that I found that all those questions were what I used to think as well when I was a kid and I guess most of us did have the same thinking in our childish minds. But got overshadowed by either our parents views or the societies views or the Fear that there is a supreme power which is managing everything and no can dare to question that.
But why there is still poverty around the world?
Why are they still living a life of misery?
Why still there are lots of inequalities and differences?
Why some are born with life long disabilities?
Why some live the life of depression?
There are many more questions. I guess I can never get answer to these questions, never. I know a lot of counter arguments that people do but if there is a god would he/she still want to see people suffering, I think the answer would be NO. It is the POWER that matters in this world. If you have the power, it could be the Money or your status then God is on your side. However the ones who are not so rich or powerful keep praising the lord or the supreme power in order to impress and try to get out of their miseries. Maybe the God was created by Rich. There is no balance in this world, but the question is would there ever be a balance? And the straightforward answer is NO.
Its always been a Man V/S Man and will always will be. Bhagat Singh did not believed in concept of god and religion. His beliefs were if power is not given we have to snatch it from them otherwise we will keep living like slaves forever. He was firm believer that one has to stand on his feet and face the harsh realities of life with courage, bravery and valour. The idea of god is helpful to a man in distress, helplessness when he is left alone. He was so determined that even during his trial he never ever prayed and asked for any help so that he can come out of jail and get free. He had set the aim of his life and the rest is history.
Reading the literature still gives a very deep point of view into his life or the only other way after this is to go back in time in a time capsule if that ever becomes possible.
