+ A Kiss to a Wound ||samhain-hallows||
The children were outside in the backyard, while Olivia watched from the kitchen window while she worked on her research. It happened so quickly, that Olivia didn't remember getting out of her chair. She heard her youngest daughter's cry and Olivia was picking her up off the ground two seconds later to console her. The other two children watched in horror, as their sibling fell off the top of the swing set and landed on her back, scraping her elbow on the wooden ladder on the way down. Having the wind knocked out if her from the fall, Wiccisha was wailing and wheezing, clinging to her mother for dear life. Olivia was calm, although she was internally panicking, she knew that it was best for everyone if she remained calm. She carefully rubbed her child's back and kissed her forehead. "Shh, it's okay, Wicca... Deep breaths.." She hushed her, carrying her inside. Wiccisha kept her head buried in Olivia's shoulder, muffling her gagging sobs with Olivia's shirt. Usually, Wiccisha wouldn't have cried if she'd gotten hurt. But she was in so much shock from falling on her back, that she just couldn't help it. Olivia held her and consoled her, then sat her on the counter to take a look at her elbow. Once the scrape was cleaned and splinter free, Olivia covered it with a little black bandaid. Wiccisha sniffled and looked up at Olivia, a sad, pout on her face. "K-Kiss it better, please?" She asked, hiccuping and holding her arm out. Olivia smiled softly at her and held her hand, then kissed over the bandaid. "Feel better now, doll?" She asked her, wiping away Wiccisha's tears with her thumb. Wiccisha nodded and smiled a little, wrapping her arms around Olivia's neck. "Thank you, mama.."
