I never thought I’d make this dress, just because of how much texture and layering is going on. But for some reason I decided to try it, got many headaches, but I’m pretty happy with the end result.
I continue my streak of being terrible at naming CC with this casual suspender look. I wanted something that looked similar to one of Fiyero’s costumes in Wicked, and I think this will also be good for Sims of almost any era in time.

I promised a few people I would write a blog about last weekend and all that happened at Wicked so here goes, it’s long and I ramble A LOT, you have been warned.
I also wanted to write it down so I would never forget any of it so it may not make sense...
under a read more;
Right, stage door times first;
The stage door before the final 2 shows must have been the most surreal and emotional one I have ever done, seeing David before the show and having some time with him was lovely until he said "Soooo it's the end, how do you feel about that" I just can't with him..., got a lovely picture and he thanked me and my sister again for the inserts as he did AGAIN after the Stage Door in the evening then he kept asking when we are coming to see Viva, he is just the sweetest guy.
Then Rachel turned up and put a party hat that some girls gave her and blew a whistle which was the cutest, she kept saying "It's a party" then gave a mini speech before she went in thanking us all, I promptly went into the station to cry and watch the video I took of it.
I stage doored a bit after the show but didn't manage to see Rachel, saw David/Gina and the rest of the ensemble though which was lovely.
On to the Muck Up;
I was really looking forward to this show as the muck up matinees are my favourite shows to attend having already been to the Grease one a few years back
Going to attempt to do this in sections as there are so many bits to talk about.
No-one Mourns The Wicked/Shiz scene;
* David yelling "Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook it's Glinda"
As soon as that happened I knew this would be a funny show, which is what I needed as I was pretty emotional knowing this would be the penultimate time seeing this cast.
* Gemma hitting Oliver and knocking him onto the floor
* David running forward after “is it true, she was your friend” someone is meant to pull him back but it never happened meaning that he had to pull himself back
* Kieran kissing the witches mother full on the lips
* Extra-long Gina/Glinda entrance note in Dear Old Shiz
* CHLONES IN SHIZ!!
* Extra faculty members
* "I didn't get my way, I need to lie down" - Gina falls back with no-one there to catch her then Rachel chiming in with the first line of Wizard and I "Did that really just happen" I can't even begin to say how funny that was, Rachel and Ginas faces were hilarious and the timing couldn’t have been better
* Glinda giving Morrible an apple
* Gina being extra bouncy when jumping to ask Morrible a question “is this regarding room allocations?”
Wizard and I
* Pretty much every Shiz student running out during one part of the song
* David grinning and waving like a loon at Rachel to get her to laugh from the wings
What Is This Feeling
* Andrew with the purse instead of a book and the skirt/sock combo... <3
Dancing through Life
* Harry “do you realise who this is –said with a lisp”, then Rachel copied the lisp by saying “I don’t care who thissss isssssssss”
* Matt changing the lyrics "Achy brakey off as we go", he looked so pleased with himself!.
* After Adam sang “Maybe I should invite her?” she held his hand and kissed him on the cheek, Adam ran off grinning
*During Dancing Through Life all the extra shiz students sat on the steps watching the dancing and singing along (Nikki, Chloe and a few others)
* Matt joined in with the dancing at the back of the stage rather than standing in the corner
Popular (aka the best muck up scene of the night)
* Something was different about the lipstick, was hard to tell but I think it was green and Rachel kept trying to lick it off
*Gina: "BALLLLLLLGOWNNNNNNNNN, is this thing on?"
Rachel: "want me to try?"
Gina: -looks at Rachel and pretends to pass over the wand before deciding against it" "No!, wear the frock, it's pretty!"
Rachel’s face was a picture throughout that whole bit and Gina had an evil grin on her face whilst standing at the back and holding her hand over her face, love it.
* Gina then gave Rachel a ridiculously large flower for her hair.
* Rachel’s entrance out of the scene, all I can describe it as would be a mischievous/pouting look to Gina then ninja roll across the bed and a spin/run off the stage, brilliant.
Shiz classroom scene
* Kieran turning Scottish when he was speaking
* All the shiz students standing instead of sitting when Rachel turned around after Doctor Dillamond was escorted out
“Are you going to just…. STAND there… in silence?”
* During the “spell” sequence they all did the robot in the background instead of the usual routine
Not That Girl
* Just before this song in the train station scene, Lilly said her line “NO, he’s the one, it’s me that’s not right, don’t worry about me Elphaba I’ll be fine” but instead of saying it how she normally does she went very over dramatic.
* Gina changed the line to express my outrage to “to express my ANGER”
* Gina also used a larger handkerchief
* During the scene where Matt and Gina run across the bridge, Gina lifted her leg over Matt during the kiss
* “There’s a girl I know, you’ll love her so –Rachel winks and smiles-, I’m not that girl”
One Short Day
* Crazy joke glasses, hilarious!
* The Wizard will see you noooow – Kieran put on a very Scottish accent
Wonderful/ballroom scenes
Kieran: “Still or sparkling sir?”
Matt: “I….?, just as much as you can carry”
* Not sure what happened in this part but something was strange about it, something happened between Matt and Rachel; either Gina missed her queue accidently or someone forgot a line but whatever happened it was pretty hilarious.
I can’t remember exactly what happened but I remember something like this
“Go, leave, get out of here”
“I will… -turns to run- I.. not without you!”
* All the guards wore fake moustaches
Catfight scene
* Gina – “LET ME GO, I COULD HAVE TAKEN HER!”
For Good/Melting
Something I have to mention even though it’s not a muck up, Rachel was sobbing so much at the end of this song that Gina had to finish it for her, thinking about it just makes me sob.
Oh and the “improvised” melt, bravo Tucker <3
“you cursed brat, look what you’ve done, I’m meltingg, meltingggg ahhhhhh”
Finale
* Rachel holding her back, sticking out her bump and staggering off the stage
Evening show;
Oh man, I’m going to try and keep this short because it will make me cry otherwise.
After the light relief of seeing the matinee I wandered off to Pret to cry into the table with my sister and then Georgia joined us a little while later, that went by in a blur because all we could do was laugh over the matinee and then be in complete denial about the evening, I had a bigger distraction with that my phone had given up and I was trying to charge it.., I never managed it :')
in my mind I was trying to plot a way to just re-live that show for the rest of my life and just not have the evening but alas Pret closed and we had to face the music and wander down to the theatre for the emotion filled evening show.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I was in floods of tears before the show even started, felt so bad for the people near me as they didn’t have a clue that it was a special cast change show.
Everyone completely upped their game from the matinee if it was possible to do so because that show, wow!. Just watching the show and having a little niggle in the back of my mind reminding me that this will be the last time I will ever see them all in those costumes singing that line or acting that way and that was enough to make me just lose it.
Honourable mentions have to be;
* The applause Rachel got when she ran out for the last time, the applause went on for ages!
* The “Melt” riff
* The whole of Defying Gravity, which was surreal, the riffs and the growls plus crying and then looking round to see everyone on their feet before the song had even ended and sobbing/hugging throughout the whole interval was an experience I will never forget and still chokes me up.
* Thank Goodness, the most emotional and powerful I have ever seen Gina sing this
* As Long As You're Mine, I really love watching Rachel and Matt in this scene together, it's beautiful to watch and one of my favourite scenes due to the simplicity of the staging and the smoke.
The painful part that I knew was coming - "It's just, for the last time... I feel... Wicked" she paused massively during that line.
* No Good Deed, the whole song and the “Fiyero” riff I can’t….
* For Good & then the wave just before she closed the curtain for the last time no words..!
* "We can never come back to Oz can we?" - Oh my life, this part destroyed me, watching them both walk through the door at the back for the final time...
Seriously though guys, YouTube all these riffs because they were INCREDIBLE, Rachel is and always will be my Elphie.
Not to forget all the ensemble and other leads we lost that day as well I’d start to name them all but I’ll miss people out and feel bad so yeah!
I miss them all, especially at Stage Door, already missing my David cuddles :(
One thing I want to mention is the speech, I'm sure you've all read/heard/seen it so I don't need to elaborate but I just want to second it for a moment, when she said "Elphaba has been like a gift to me" I feel exactly the same, discovering Wicked has also been like a gift to me, the amount of friends I have made and will continue to make due to this show blows my mind and I can never even begin to think of the words to thank Rachel and Wicked for that, a huge amount of which are now some of my closest friends.
No matter how many shows I go to see in my lifetime I know that in my heart I will always return to Wicked regardless of the cast and the city because you can't just walk away from Oz, the magic keeps you there for a lifetime and leaves a big green handprint on your heart forever.
Louphaba;
Well what can I say, of course Louise was incredible no doubt in my mind that she wouldn't be, she is so similar yet SO different to Rachel it's interesting and refreshing to see.
a personal highlight from her portrayal of Elphaba has to be the whole of What Is This Feeling, the little dances and looks Louise gives are hilarious, at one point whilst Glinda sings "These things are meant to try us" Louise takes off Elphies glasses and gives them a sarcastic clean before putting them back on and tilting her head back with laughter.
I can see she will be a fantastic Elphie and I look forward to seeing how she grows into the role as the months go on.
The new ensemble, right I may be a bit biased at the moment so don't want to say much until I get used to them all, it's just strange looking at them all and having so many unfamiliar faces.
Of course I am missing the 2011/2012 cast but I really am excited to see where the next year takes me on my Wicked journey, I already have a few trips planned (although not nearly as much as the last few months)
I was honestly going to make my next trip on my birthday next year but I have had so many friends inviting me up to see the show and them that I can't possibly say no.
;)
I also want to give a shout out to everyone I've met and seen in the last week, It all feels like a bit of a daze and I probably seemed like an emotional idiot whilst talking to you all but I truly mean it when I say that everyone I have met through Wicked is amazing and I hope I see you all around again sometime, apart from the obvious people who I will keep in touch with even if it kills me, I'm sure you know who you all are :) x
(if you have read to the end, you are amazing!, oh and due the the excitement of the day I may have forgotten or made mistakes with things that happened so please correct me so I can edit!) :)
Did you go to the Wicked cast change? How was it? :) x
Of course, wouldn’t have missed it for the world!. Wow!, where do I begin?, it was a very emotional day, I went from crying with laughter in the muck up to crying with sadness for the evening show, such an incredible atmosphere to be a part of. I’m actually in the process of writing up a long blog post about it as I need to wrap my thoughts around it all, should be finished in the next few days as there is so much to say about it all. Still doesn't seem real that Tucker + so many amazing ensemble/leads have left and after seeing the new cast last night I am missing them all terribly. Did you go anon? xo
