I'm gonna act like I'm revelant for a minute but-
I saw this post earlier from @mrshipsmcgee, talking about how she will be taking a step back from Tumblr due to constant criticism from anons and others, and honestly I can 100% understand her decision. People online write for free, they bring you entertainment for fucking free.
And really I can make a wall of text about how shitty you anons have been to the sweetest, kindest person ever that if I have to say frankly, has a fantastic writing style and is full of wonderful ideas, while you people take time out of your days to be hurtful to others. It's ridiculous and shows people that you really have nothing else to do of your own free time. But no. This is about how the works of others inspire the ones around them to make their own things, to find others with the same passions; it's about how someone's work can create something else entirely new, create other things other people will enjoy.
People's writings, they have an effect on others; it brings people that possibly would have never known each other together otherwise, and personally, in my case, has inspired me to draw my own stuff based on Cait's writing here.
My art's not perfect, and honestly I can see every single mistake in anatomy and every part where I got lazy with my shading. But I've made something I would've never drawn had it not been from Cait's work.
My point is, maybe some people can't feel anything from a fic, and yeah maybe you don't like it.
But someone else will like it, surely. And that someone will share it with others who think the same! And maybe just the way I did, someone's work will inspire something new to be made! There's no need to ruin a good writer's passion because you don't enjoy their writings. You can just move on with your life and let people enjoy the things they create, with the company of those who will truly appreciate the work and love put into those creations.
Tl;dr - Stop being assholes and let people enjoy the things they make in peace.
