     “Oh my, there are so many dishes here to enjoy! I wonder if I can get some cooking inspiration? I do need more practice.” When it came to finding something to eat, Felicia wasn’t sure where to start. The banquet was abundant with choices, many of which she’d never seen before. The possibilities were endless, and during a celebration of life and death, good and bad, she was eager to participate and get her fill.

     And though festivities were daunting to Felicia, ever nervous and awkward around strangers, she was determined to challenge herself today. Approaching the nearest person she found, she mustered up just enough courage to ask her question: “E-excuse me, what is that you’re eating? It looks simply delicious!”

As a result, both Arnath and someone that had sat next to her were picked to dance the next dance, her looking quite disappointed with herself as she looked towards the other girl.

“You know,” Kate said, glancing at the performer on stage -- just a person with a keyboard and a dream to play songs in just dog barking soundbytes. “It’s kinda funny. I don’t think I’ve ever been to anythin’ even.. remotely in reference to death this cheerful. It doesn’t seem like anythin’ anyone plays bothers the churchgoers at all. Back home, this would almost be blasphemy. Whole family would disown you.”

Kate turned to the woman with black hair next to her, before looking down and shaking her head with a small smile. This entire place was different -- it was a realm all on its own, separate from the entity (no formal pronouns) and yet she was trapped all the same. A large cage, almost more like an aquarium instead, but stuck all the same.

“Not sure how I feel about this city, but y’know, I could get used to havin’ a funeral like this. People focusin’ on what’s still there, instead of what they lost. What about you?”
