I've been hospitalized, again. This time for a good reason, I was low on blood, and I was unsure on my feet. So they hospitalized me in a unit I don't like at all, but that's how life goes. They eventually pulled me up and then said I needed a progesterone IUD. I consulted my doctors in Bologna, my Neurologist, my Cardiologist in Mantova, they all seemed to agree, so I said yes. On Monday they hospitalized another woman, uterus cancer, in severe pain. They said we both shouldn't eat and drink a thing because that day we should have undergone surgery... Wait a minute. Surgery? Yes. And I should have been asleep too. What? I started rethinking about it... I gathered this information without the help of the chief of Ginecology, who has inexplicably vanished. In the meantime we passed the day without touching food and water. We waited untill 8 pm, then a Ginecologist came into our room, embarrassed to say that they wouldn't have us for the day being. And the list, because we still wouldn't be in the list, it was a list the chief's list. I honestly didn't know what to think. I felt outraged, humiliated, but not for me: for the woman besides me. She was in severe pain, she pooped by the wrong way (yeah, you read it right, by her vagina), she was so scared and fragile. I knew that when I wanted I could have gone to my ginecologist, and have that damn thing inserted. So the following morning I wrote a letter of complaint, at least he would respond to the public relations. And he turned that letter to me, saying that I wasn't nobody's advocate.
