There wasn’t much Bucky hated more than waiting around, doing nothing, and feeling useless. He sat in the hospital waiting room, perched on the edge of his seat for a good hour before the nurse gave him to go ahead to visit Steve’s room. It’s not looking good--I’m sorry, she told Bucky.
He shot up so fast, rushing through the double doors and pausing only to double ask for directions, annoyed and lost, never really getting used this hospital scene. The last time he and Steve had been here they’d watched Steve’s mom bite the bullet. Bucky had promised her he’d take of Steve... and yet here they were, right back at the hospital just a few months later.
Bucky pulled the curtain open. “Steve?--” There he was. Thank God. Still moving quick, Bucky headed over to Steve’s bedside and stood there uselessly, looking down at him, surveying him from head to toe with frantic eyes. He couldn’t stop himself from reaching down, pressing a hand to Steve’s forehead and then cupping his cheek. “What’d you get yourself into this time, buddy?”
Pneumonia. Not exactly his fault. Bucky couldn’t let the mood dip into anything too scary though, he just couldn’t...

at least youre making an effort i just went to the chippy
man, i wish i had a chippy round here, i'd be all over that. i'm trying to make up for the fact i had 3 takeaways last week by eating actual food for a while.
What's your thoughts on Dean's reaction to the 'gay thing'?
At the risk of pissing people off, here's what I think (under the cut because of length).
I think he was a bit embarrassed about it but still flattered in a way, and even a little amused. But I don't think the bar scene or his comments later are proof in any way that he's gay or bi as some people are insisting. My personal opinion is that Dean is straight, but that's my interpretation based on my viewings of the character's actions and what has been shown on the show as canon. Until there is an actual situation shown on the screen that blatantly states he's into men in any way, it is not canon to me and is all speculation based on people's personal opinions & desires. I know I'm in the minority, but I stick very strictly to canon in movies/shows 99% of the time, and I don't read fics and whatnot because of that reason.
My feelings on this are also based off my own personal experiences as a straight female who has on many occasions been hit on by another female, and while I am not homophobic in the slightest, it can still be very off-putting being hit on. I get flustered and embarrassed when a guy hits on me, too. There's no difference to me. Mostly because I don't really think much of myself and therefore when things like that happen, I generally tend to get very weird and awkward and it has nothing to do with the gender or orientation of the person the interaction was with. I've had almost the same reaction as Dean did on more than one occasion when being hit on by both men & women, so I guess that's what makes me view it the way I do.
I think that there are certain people that will read into ANY interaction Dean has with a male and assume that it's flirting or gay or whatever. There are other people who will adamantly insist Dean does not nor could possibly ever have feelings for another guy. I am neither. I don't view him as anything except straight, but I also believe anything is possible because I don't actually write the show. And whatever direction they go with him isn't going to change my opinion or enjoyment or love of him or the show. I just hope the writers stick to how THEY want the story to go, and don't go off the path just for fanservice.
The beauty of life is that we're all able to form our own opinions, and I love that people do that. I enjoy when people speculate about things on the show that we don't actually know for certain, and I love that both Dean and Sam are so multi-dimensional that they give us loads and loads to think about and speculate on. They have so many layers, and it's easy to find yourself able to enjoy and identify with one or the other or both for so many different reasons. I love that and I encourage that. The thing is, it's all still just speculation until someone puts it out there as fact. The only thing I have a problem with is when people blatantly ignore actual canon to serve their own desires and then use that as an excuse to act like complete dicks to people who choose not to do that. Think what you want, ship what you want, but respect that others should be allowed to do that, too, and having a different opinion doesn't necessarily make you an asshole because of it.
