OK BUT I WHY WAS ANNE'S WIG SO UGLY. it lowkey ruined a lot of her scenes no joke. I just couldn't take her seriously.
It was truly the downfall of season 2. I hope they’ll let Amybeth grow her hair out or give her beautiful, long extensions because short-haired Anne is NOT a look.
Underrated opinion but I think Anne rocked the pixie cut (from episode 6), especially with the blue ribbon. Although it got worse when it grew out (the fringe and bob in particular was horrendous) but then once Episode 9 came around I adored her hair even more at that point (it became my favorite hairstyle of hers in the entire show).
The pixie cut was indeed one of the better wigs. I think because it was the least distracting? And yes I agree I liked the short braids too. Amybeth’s face simply suits longer hair more (collarbone length and down). A part of me wishes they started there, but then the impact wouldn’t be as big which I did like. (I just wish I could remove those two other wigs from my brain yikes)
I just wish everyone would chill out about the whole wig thing. True, it doesn’t look fantastic but we know literally nothing at this point, it could be for a flash-back, or flash-forward, or a dream sequence or some AI scully-bot-thing - its the X files for fucks sake! We have no evidence that this will be what it’s like for the whole revival, and even if it is, so what? We are actually getting more Mulder and Scully and your main concern is her hair?
I know everyone just wants it to be perfect, hence all the complaints about the colour, but I think dying it back to FTF redness levels and then having to bleach it back for The Fall etc. not long after might actually turn her bald. Meaning she would have to wear wigs for everything else, which would probably be a major continuity fuck-up for The Fall (a wig is never going to look like her real hair) which will presumably pick up right where the last season ended. Yes you could argue it is a continuity error for txf too, but it has been 8 years, or 13 if you discount IWTB and her hair was bound to change in that time span.
However they did/do her hair people are going to be disappointed, but its only the second day of filming so lets just wait and see if it is actually going to stay like this before we all have nervous breakdowns about a fictional character’s hair.
Scully would not want us to jump to conclusions.
