❝ worship does not come cheap. ❞ Lavi to Allen
Hah, how bitterly cruel and true such words were ; everything was crumbling around them, like stacked cards that trembled like leaves in the wind, cascading down after withheld breath would escape and break the tremulous delicate structure.
( This war, these battles, this bloodshed . . . . . . all these lives being lost, every second, of every day . . . )
{ and yet, who were they, if not the very soldiers put on the front lines to parade around, donning their masks, brandishing their weapons, all for the sake of... worship — for if it were not for the sake of their god, then would they all be in such circumstance? Nay, for this was a battle not for the feint of heart ; these battles spanned thousands of years, etched upon millennia several fold... all in opposition of the one that was smite and done wrong by 'God' in the first place. Here ALLEN stood, a young man who had lived lifetimes twice over yet so terrifyingly unaware, a young man whose soul was intertwined with dear friends of ages past — yet, dare one even delve into that, for a lullaby of melancholy awaits the young man who simply had a humble wish to— }
❝ ... You're right, Lavi. ❞ the young man began, a bitter smile etched upon chapped rosy lips, as a melancholy melted within swirling irises — all of which reflected the lamenting of his trepid soul. Snowy locks fell forward as Allen's neck craned down. His right hand clasped over his left arm as if seeking some semblance of support within himself, as though he might find the answer if he simply held on for long enough...
❝ In this war, worship truly comes with a hefty price. ❞ he took a moment to pause, pondering on his upcoming words carefully. There he stood, within the GRAY ZONE... the place wherein ANOMALIES within this war stood. He thought of The Noah, and all of his friends at the Black Order... Everyone was simply fighting for what they believed in, they all had something to worship, something to look up to. ... Yet, what did he have? All he had was a promise. ❝ ... It really makes one wonder, doesn't it, Lavi? Just... what we're fighting for. Our lives are so absorbed in this thousand-years war that... I almost forgot what it's like to live a life without any of it. To live like others, who are so ignorant to what's going on... ❞ It was something to envy, at this point. ❝ ... Those who don't believe in anything at all, those who simply live for the sake of living, not believing in God or Innocence or... anything... it must be nice. ❞ Yet even Allen knew that even those without worship or faith would bend and break if given the opportunity to get what they desire on a silver platter. Humanity was... for the lack of a better word, terribly twisted, broken puppets dancing on God's strings.
