#CHIKARA Theme #2009 by #WigglyOfTrapDoor - I'm uncomfortable tooting my own horn but, here it is. I wrote the song, recorded, mastered, edited, played, and even filmed the green screen elements as well as creating the motion graphics and editing the video. I mention all this crap because I've seen far too many television interviews praising artists for creating X amount of their music by themselves and how they are super talents (usually postmortem). I'm not inferring I'm in their league however, every time a tv host states that someone was one-of-a-kind or that somehow this is incredibly rare, they are completely thumbing their nose at the millions of other solo artist doing the exact same things, some on the same level, some more talented and some with a larger scope to their creativity that has not had (and may never have) the good fortune of sharing their creations with a larger audience. I would never want to take away any praise given to someone like Prince let's say but also mention that they had the good fortune (being lucky enough) to be recognized and gain fame or exposure for doing what they love. The artists themselves also need to recognize their good fortune and then hopefully go about earning that break.
