it`s 2 am. And i have Nothing to do.
what would a normal Person do? - go to bed.
What did i just do? - REread (yes, you`ve read right, "reread") the entire Wikipedia entry about Vincent van Gogh.
After reading About his life, i still don`t understand, why i feel such love and such a strong conection for this man.
This brilliant, overlooked, misjudged, creative little mastermind of an Artist.
from my Point of view it`s obvious why he went a Tiny bit insane. He was a perfectionist.
Wikipedia says, "he painted some of his own paintings up to nine times, always a little bit different. "
The man was not "sure About his work" or "probably wanted to Keep a copy or give one to his brother". He was too close to his work.
He made mistakes only he could see.
He did something my art teacher once told me a life changing Thing about.
"You can pour your heart and soul into a drawing, a Picture, a painting, a song or whatever it is you are passionat about. You create with Passion, you succed. But make sure that, after you`re done, you get your heart and Soul back."
Imagine trying for years of your life to make a Living with something you love - you actually unknowingly sell a part of your Soul with every artpiece - and People still undervalue your work.
That shit hurts, and it drove him mad. He actually shot himself in the chest/stomach (that`s where history get`s a lil unclear).
Some said because he was simply crazy, other said because he was suicidal and depressed and some even said he did it just for Attention. Well, we`ll never know for sure, because the only Person who could tell the truth About why he shot himself is Mr. Vincent van Gogh himself.
Moral of this Story? i don`t have one and i still have to figure out why i`m so in love with his art and his Story but besides that….
if you actually read that whole Thing - BAM - you just got educated.
